History

Fu Luo worked as a private investigator in Zhengcheng before becoming closely involved with the Death Game. While searching for the forum user “May,” he systematically compared graduation photographs, admissions lists, and old social-media posts. His investigation uncovered signs that someone had deliberately erased a Jiangcheng Experimental Middle School student from public records and class photos 108 109.

He met Lin Yu after Lin Yu, posing as “May,” hired him to find Heavenly Artisan. Fu Luo located the target within five minutes, then supported Lin Yu's operation by providing intelligence and preparing to call Order for backup 115 117. Though frightened when confronted by the wounded Heavenly Artisan, he still attempted to defend himself with brass knuckles 119. Believing Lin Yu had protected him at personal cost, Fu Luo began treating him as a trusted friend 120.

Despite his investigative talent, Fu Luo initially avoided Rank Advancement risks and attempted to rely on team-up items. Lin Yu confronted this fear and persuaded him to attempt the mission properly; Fu Luo eventually became a Tier 1 Player and unlocked [Social] permission 184 283.

Fu Luo later established a position in the City That Never Sleeps. He used forensic reasoning to identify the Truth Company as the likely source of Investigator Reed's murder and Pankto's framing, and revealed his connections to both the Truth Company and the Nightless Sky Family 277 278. Within the Nightless Sky Family, he became known as a capable detective, performed puzzle-solving duties in sacrifices to the God of Wisdom, and was selected as a prospective deputy to the future Family Head 506.

His public reputation became disproportionate to his actual combat strength after Lin Yu repeatedly used the Sherlock identity in the City That Never Sleeps. The resulting rumors portrayed Fu Luo as a formidable figure whose hidden strength had finally been revealed, allowing him to intimidate enemies and rally other Players despite his own discomfort with the misconception 496 505 740 857.

While investigating a hidden organization with Gao Shan, Fu Luo was severely injured and came to believe that his own actions had caused Gao Shan's death 1161. Fu Luo himself was later murdered after returning from the City That Never Sleeps; Nightless Sky Yong Lian suspected the killer belonged to the same secret organization he had been investigating 1281.

Lin Yu preserved Fu Luo's Soul Fragments in the [Ancient Notebook]. A highly complete Information Lifeform was subsequently created from those fragments, retaining his personality and much of his long-term memory but lacking key short-term memories surrounding his death 1290 1291. Fu Luo accepted this altered existence and asked to be treated as the real Sherlock. Although he must normally remain within the [Ancient Notebook], its projection ability allows him to act in reality for limited periods 1291 1294.

Fu Luo is a tall, handsome man with the build and appearance Lin Yu considers suitable for modeling. His composed appearance can make him seem authoritative or elite when he remains silent, even though his mannerisms often undermine that impression 524 1315.

He is highly expressive and habitually boastful. His stories tend to emphasize his own cleverness and the admiration of others; this trait was so characteristic that Lin Yu's failure to imitate it exposed him as an impostor 505.
