A Princess in a Dream
Everyone wanted to be close to Miss Sai Weiruila and Miss Anna, whose fathers each represented the undisputed face of a large region, along with immeasurable wealth and terrifying social influence.
Even a single comment from them—like, "Do you know xxx? I strongly agree with something he said"—can be enough to change a person's destiny.
This is not a joke; it's a real phenomenon. And that's precisely why those in high positions are less likely to comment on others, whether it's praise or criticism, as that would affect some people's original life trajectory.
But if these two women, who are often compared to each other, were to meet, and someone else were caught in the middle, it would be a nightmare. Most people would find the thought terrifying. You can't afford to offend either of them. Perhaps just one girl's emotional questioning could ruin someone's life...
That's terrifying.
Lin Qi was now in the midst of such a vortex, but he was clearly not as struggling as people had imagined.
"No offense intended. I respect both ladies, women present here, and women throughout the Federal and the world..." He responded to Sai Weiruila's earlier comment about "junior" in a rather peculiar way.
In fact, there is no strict hierarchy between upperclassmen and underclassmen in the school culture of the Federal, which is quite different from that of Gefra.
Gefra was a monarchy where people were born with the understanding that people were born into different classes, and that this class distinction would evolve into a rigid and oppressive class system as they grew up.
Whether in schools, at work, or even in government or the military, there exist various class hierarchies that are difficult for people to resist.
Obedience to superiors is a unique aspect of Gefra's culture. Gefra's army is said to be a group prone to aggression and abuse, a trait that is not present in the Federal.
Federal that pursues absolute freedom would not have such a strict class hierarchy. Apart from the military, where the rights and obligations of superiors and subordinates are clearly defined, other places are very free.
Even though Sai Weiruila calls Lin Qi her junior, she cannot use her status as her senior to order Lin Qi to do anything.
But in this world, there are always some people who adhere to some inexplicable bottom line.
"I don't have any particular aversion to being called 'junior,' but I hope you two can stop calling me that." He was still smiling, but at this moment his smile clearly conveyed an invisible barrier, a sense of distance, even though his expression hadn't changed at all.
His eyes, slightly narrowed and half-closed, occasionally gleamed with a glint of light. He stopped and looked at the two young ladies. "You can call me Lin Qi, kid, or Lin Qi kid, or whatever..."
He glanced at Anna, who seemed to have thought of something and glared back at him. Lin Qi continued with a smile, "But please don't call me Lin Qi, thank you!"
The two girls were somewhat surprised; they hadn't expected that Sai Weiruila's use of "junior" would elicit such a strong reaction from Lin Qi.
They don't realize that there is a state in this world called "being invincible when one is without desires".
If a person has no desires and is not coerced, then no one can force him to change his mind.
Lin Qi was the same; he never thought of taking advantage of these two young girls, nor did he ever consider using any selfish means to gain the help of the people behind them.
For him, it's only a matter of time before he becomes someone greater than Wo Delike and Patu. He's still young; he may lack some other things, but he certainly doesn't lack time.
This is what it means to be without desire. Therefore, he naturally has no need to lower himself or maintain a flattering attitude to please these girls or even the people behind them.
He never wanted anything from them from the beginning, so he was naturally able to stick to his principles.
When Lin Qi was young, he experienced something that left a deep impression on him in another world. He was playing with some other children when he was young.
One day, a girl joined their small group.
It was a summer day, and she was wearing a very light and cool dress. They found a secluded spot by a lake in a park.
The girl took off her sandals, lifted half of her skirt, and put her feet into the water, splashing the water.
The shimmering water and the beautiful woman made one feel how wonderful life is.
Even more unbelievable is that the girl played a joke on them... or maybe it was a joke.
"Did you know that some people say my skin is sweet..." she said in a seductive tone, her eyes filled with allure. At that moment, every male could transcend the limits of their species and sense arousal.
The girl seemed to enjoy it, but Lin Qi stood aside watching coldly. The girl seemed to notice him and asked, "Aren't you curious?"
Lin Qi calmly shook his head. "I'm not curious."
The girl, however, became curious. "Why aren't you curious?"
Lin Qi casually lit a cigarette, took a drag, and slowly exhaled, "Because I don't want to..."
His mindset then was the same as it is now: I don't want to sleep with you, so don't treat me the way you treat people with desires; that will only ruin our pure friendship.
Both girls seemed lost in thought. Sai Weiruila seemed to have forgotten that she was the one who first brought up the concept of "senior sister." She quickly shifted the topic away from these matters and towards what she wanted to discuss with Lin Qi.
Naturally, she ignored or disregarded Anna again.
At that moment, the barrier in Lin Qi's smile disappeared, and his smile became clean and pure again.
"After you left yesterday, I thought about what we talked about. I was very inspired and thought a lot. Can I use your ideas..." she said, and quickly added, "Of course I won't use your ideas for free. I will give you some shares."
Anna, who had gradually calmed down, looked at Sai Weiruila and Lin Qi with some confusion. Suddenly, as if she had discovered something, her eyes showed some surprise.
If she wasn't mistaken, it seemed that Sai Weiruila, the "King's Only Princess," had fallen for Lin Qi?
Maybe it's not quite love, but there's definitely a good feeling. Suddenly, as if she had thought of something, the corners of her mouth curled up slightly, and her mood improved. She even chimed in, "What are you discussing? Maybe I can offer you some help."
"Are you going to make a mess of things for us?" Sai Weiruila turned to Anna, smiling kindly. "I was just kidding, don't take it personally."
She was just joking, but it also completely showed her refusal to answer any of Anna's questions. Sometimes girls use their intelligence in ways that men can't understand.
Anna smiled and said it was okay, but no one knew what she was really thinking.
She listened intently, genuinely curious about what they were talking about. As she listened, she gradually became engrossed and had to admit that Lin Qi was a very special person, perhaps even a genius.
Sai Weiruila had this idea from the beginning: to write a campus novel to boost the sales of the trendy brand she owned, achieving a win-win situation, but she never came up with a good idea.
For example, she thought about writing some inspirational novels, which are actually very mainstream in today's society.
Art, especially literary art, is actually the kind of art that most caters to the trend. Unlike dance, opera, painting, and instrumental performance, which require not only performers to have strong artistic skills, literary art also requires viewers to have extremely high artistic cultivation.
If you have a lot of scattered lines on a canvas, you won't be able to tell which school or art form the painting belongs to if you don't have enough artistic knowledge.
But literature and art are different. As long as someone can read and isn't an idiot, there will always be books that suit them.
After exploring some of her ideas, Lin Qi proposed another possibility.
Compared to the story of arduous entrepreneurship, which is quite distant from ordinary people, wouldn't love be closer to ordinary students?
During this period, the students who can go to university are at least from Middle Class families. They have purchasing power, and topics like dating are very popular on campus.
Pink romance, sweet fantasies, and a Princess dream—girls will be obsessed with this, and they will desperately wish they were the girl in the story.
Then, with promotion in all aspects, highlight the trendy brand in the hands of Sai Weiruila, make it more in line with all of this, create a sub-brand with "Princess in Love" as the core, or simply set up a separate brand image company.
If managed properly, this brand will become the most popular brand among young female intellectuals in the Federal for at least the next decade. After all, every girl from a well-off family has a pink Princess dream, which is why Sai Weiruila was so surprised to see Lin Qi.
She couldn't come up with such a complete plan on her own; she needed Lin Qi to give her some more guidance.
"I heard it..."
When they were almost finished talking, Anna suddenly spoke up to make her presence known. Sai Weiruila looked at her, as if to say, "What are you planning to do now?"
Anna understood her expression and tossed her hair. "I want to participate too. I want to invest. Otherwise, I'll find someone to do it. You know, I have plenty of people in my family who know this stuff."
