Some call these International Banker "gamblers," while others call them "speculators." In fact, neither of these terms is entirely accurate.

They possess the characteristics of gamblers and speculators, but not entirely.

They don't gamble on Ten Thousandth chance like gamblers do; they're not that crazy. They pursue perpetual profit, while crazy gamblers seek the adrenaline rush the moment the cards are flipped, the thrill of stepping into hell with one hand and grasping heaven with the other, awaiting the final judgment—a deadly thrill.

They are not like complete speculators. Although speculators do the same things as them, pursuing perpetual profits, they are more level-headed. Speculators do not do nothing or know nothing before speculating, and then randomly throw their bets somewhere.

They actually do a lot of meticulous work beforehand; they just want to get the biggest return with the least amount of money. This isn't like gambling on Ten Thousandth chance when you know it's almost impossible.

They combine the characteristics of both, yet are different from both. They go a step further than speculators, yet are not as aggressive as gamblers. They seem like contradictory people, but they possess something that the former lacks: the means to control external factors.

Now that these off-field tactics have failed, they are becoming increasingly anxious and uneasy. Unlike gamblers who are nonchalant in the face of defeat, or speculators who are indifferent to failure, they are terrified, even panicked! They clearly realize that if all of this was Lin Qi's doing, or if Lin Qi had made this decision and plan from the beginning, then they have all been tricked, thoroughly fooled!

Next, they considered whether Lin Qi had prepared other means to deal with them after all these events.

Or rather, to tear something off of them to satisfy Lin Qi's terrible appetite. At this point, Mr. He Bosi no longer dared to underestimate Lin Qi, so he put forward a point that he should not have said—at least we have won a lot of Exchange Rate.

This is the only good news after a bad one, and it's a piece of good news that can offer some reassurance.

They no longer pursued the idea of swallowing up Lin Qi's bonds, but instead planned to fulfill the contract as best they could. They would not ask Lin Qi for interest, and only hoped that Lin Qi would be able to return the money he had borrowed from them smoothly.

They still made substantial profits; even without achieving their ultimate goal, they still earned a considerable amount of money.

"I have a copy of the contract here. Perhaps we should take another look at it!" He Bosi suggested, and with the others echoing his sentiments, he had the butler retrieve a copy of the contract from the safe.

It was just a copy; the original was kept in the vault of the Financial Management Committee. Loans and mortgages of this level, to a certain extent, already had the basis for murder and robbery.

Therefore, neither Lin Qi nor Mr. He Bosi considered carrying these contracts with them; they all kept them in Federal government agencies.

As the largest regulatory body in the Federal financial sector, they also offer corresponding services, and their service fees are not low.

The contract copies were quickly retrieved and broken into many parts. Everyone was carefully reading them; it had been a long time since they had read a dry contract line by line and word by word like this since they became successful.

It's okay if you don't read it, but once you do, you'll find it full of problems.

They then connected with their private lawyers via conference call.

It's a huge group. Each International Banker's business may involve people from many different countries and social classes. Naturally, they also need lawyers who are familiar with the laws and conditions of these countries.

This time, they mainly recruited lawyers from Gefra, Federal lawyers, and lawyers from some neutral countries.

The reason for seeking lawyers from neutral countries is quite simple: they are still habitually considering whether they can use methods beyond those of gamblers and speculators—off-the-ground factors—to interfere with the outcome of judicial proceedings.

For example, they could file a protest with the Federal, arguing that holding the case in Federal court is disadvantageous to foreign businessmen like themselves, and request that the case be transferred to a neutral country or international court where they have the authority to intervene, which would greatly increase their chances of winning.

They had indeed won many times in the past using this method, so they were considering doing the same thing again this time.

As for the issues in the contract... they are mostly mutual, equal breach of contract clauses.

For example, if one party breaches the contract, a penalty of one percent of the total contract price multiplied by the number of days of the breach shall be paid.

This breach of contract clause actually appears in many contracts, from buying and selling houses to buying and selling financial products.

They didn't think much of it before, but now these people have a vague feeling that this might be a trap.

"Mr. He Bosi, I just reviewed the relevant Federal legal documents, and the basis for calculating liquidated damages is primarily the collateral. In other words, if Mr. Lin Qi defaults on this loan, the liquidated damages he is required to pay will not be based on the actual market value of the loaned currency, but rather on the value of the collateral at the time of the loan."

"Moreover, these debt-type products have a value roughly equivalent to currency. As long as the official authorities of Gefra do not publicly declare the abolition of the convertibility rights of these bonds, or publicly declare support for convertibility at only a certain percentage of the bond face value, then we will use the bond face value as the actual value."

"In other words, if either of you defaults, the amount will be based on the War Bonds with a face value of 94.45 million Federal Sol that Mr. Lin Qi has pledged to you, with a daily penalty of 944,500 Federal Sol."

Upon hearing this, Mr. He Bosi's hands began to tremble. He tried his best to remain calm, afraid that his unstable emotions would affect others. He suppressed his emotions and asked in a low voice, "Then under what circumstances would I be in breach of contract?"

After all, when it comes to loans, he had only ever heard of borrowers defaulting, never lenders. So he asked again and again, carefully inquiring about the matter.

"If you request to receive this payment in advance before the contract termination date, then the number of days before the contract termination date when you make this request will be considered a breach of contract."

The lawyer then added, almost jokingly, "For example, if you want to get this payment back now, there are still 110 days left until the contract's expiration date. According to the contract, not only will you not get a single penny, but you will also have to pay Mr. Lin Qi approximately ten million Federal Sol in breach of contract penalties..."

The lawyer was unaware that his joke had nearly shattered Mr. He Bosi's feigned composure. He gripped the top of his Walking Stick tightly, his hands clasped together, which made him appear less alarmed.

"That joke wasn't very funny, so let's move on to the second clause that I think is a bit inappropriate..."

The entire day was spent discussing whether the terms of the contract aligned with their expected benefits and whether they would cause them too much harm.

In the end, they identified some clauses that might contain traps. Besides the issue of penalties for breach of contract, there were other minor issues, such as payment methods and how to effectively confirm payments.

Finally, Mr. He Bosi asked the large team of lawyers from around the world a question that concerned him most, "Gentlemen, assuming we have some disagreements in this contract and ultimately intend to seek a solution through litigation, is there a way for us to transfer its jurisdiction to another international court, as we have done in the past?"

After a brief discussion, the legal team came to a less than favorable conclusion. "I'm sorry, Mr. He Bosi, we believe that this is unlikely to happen."

"First, this contract was signed in Nagaril and is being enforced in the Federal. If you want to transfer the case from the Bayer Federation to another international court, you must first convince both countries to agree to this."

"But given the current situation, that's highly unlikely."

"Even without considering the extent of Nagaril Joint Development Company's influence on the country's domestic judicial system, the mere fact that they have two sets of laws running concurrently will create significant problems for the subsequent litigation."

"Secondly, the Federal has become a world-class military power, and they have shown an unprecedentedly tough attitude in opening up international affairs. We all believe that they are unlikely to agree to our demands. Moreover, Mr. Lin Qi has a very close relationship with the Federal's top leadership, and he will definitely obstruct it."

"I don't think your idea is likely to come true."

Mr. He Bosi pursed his lips. "I mean, what if it were possible?"

He would try his best. He knew many people in the Bayer Federation, and there might be a chance to change the situation. So he emphasized, "What if there is such a possibility?"

However, the lawyers disagreed, saying, "There is no possibility, Mr. He Bosi."

He Bosi ' emotions were starting to get out of control. He tried to give himself some good news that might come true, but these lawyers kept disappointing him!

His voice suddenly rose considerably, "I mean, what if, what if there's a possibility?"

"As an employee, I would love to tell you that there is an opportunity, but as a lawyer, I must tell you that you do not have even a Ten Thousandth chance, Mr. He Bosi."

"We can't let you wallow in impossible illusions while waiting for danger to strike. If you think it might be worthwhile and effective, then why not consider that things might start and end exactly as you initially envisioned? Wouldn't that be better?"

Mr. He Bosi was speechless for a long time after hearing the lawyer's words. He realized that this might be the stupidest decision he had ever made!
