How Fast
"Your Majesty, gentlemen!"
Lin Qi first bowed slightly to His Your Majesty the Emperor to show his respect, then his calm gaze swept over the faces of the Princes and Ministers. His voice was steady, without trembling or fluctuating in strength, giving people a very reliable feeling.
His pronunciation in Common Language is also very accurate, without Federal accent, in a very international way.
"When faced with a problem, I often try to solve it in stages by 'identifying the problem,' 'seeking solutions,' 'implementing specific steps,' 'accumulating phased victories,' and finally 'achieving the goal.'"
"I've also been keeping an eye on the situation in the Amelia Region, and I've found the core problem behind the local situation getting out of control: the Imperial soldiers can't fight, can't outrun, and can't find the source of all this!"
His Your Majesty the Emperor glanced quickly at the Army Minister and stroked his beard. His movements were quite subtle, and anyone paying attention would have noticed them.
The Army Minister also noticed, and he quickly realized what was happening, coughing as if to stop Lin Qi from continuing.
Lin Qi looked at him and asked politely, "Sir, are you feeling unwell?"
The Army Minister shook his head, unsure whether Lin Qi was genuinely stupid or feigning ignorance. "My throat is a little itchy."
Up to this point, the dialogue between the two was still relatively normal. If nothing unexpected happened, Lin Qi should show some concern for the Army Minister's health, then skip over the issues he had previously raised and move on to the next topic, thus saving face for both of them and making it all a minor incident.
But Lin Qi didn't do that. "You know, sir, if you can't face your pain, can't face your mistakes, and you always avoid these problems, these problems will always exist and surround you."
"We all know this fact, and we also know that these problems will not disappear automatically just because you avoid them!"
"Now that we know about these problems, we should start working on them instead of ignoring them."
Am I right?
"Gentlemen?!"
Speechless after being silenced by Lin Qi's words, the Army Minister sat down awkwardly. He glanced at the Emperor; he had done his best.
His Your Majesty the Emperor frowned. He disliked what Lin Qi was saying; it was the empire's pain and the issue he hated most. He didn't even want to hear anyone mention it.
Gefra's army... may only be able to bully Small Country with severely backward military technology, and seems to be of little use otherwise.
The navy's continued victories masked the army's incompetence, so much so that the Gefra had not considered changing the current state of the army for years.
Of course, this is also related to the navy being too powerful. The rise of the Age of Exploration made the control of the sea very important. Gefra's navy was able to accomplish tasks that the army could not, so people would not pay attention to the problems of the army.
There's a saying that goes, "People only care about a lame man's hat until he walks," which vividly describes Gefra's current condition. To change this, we must face the problem squarely.
The emperor's brow relaxed after a moment, and he tapped the armrest of the Imperial Throne with his finger. People's attention was immediately drawn to the voice. "Go on, Mr. Lin Qi."
Lin Qi bowed again to show his respect for the emperor's "support" for him, and then continued, "Let's analyze the specific reasons. First, we can't win."
"Because of geographical reasons, the Gefra did not have any enemies that required direct land warfare, thus neglecting the development of their army, to the point that...", he pursed his lips, "...I also don't want to mention their performance in Li Ya."
"They can't outrun us. These soldiers severely lack systematic military training. Combined with the previous point, I can understand this. After all, the army is more like a guard of honor than an army that needs to rush to the battlefield to fight."
"When the wind is favorable, one cannot catch up with the fleeing enemy; when facing difficulties, one cannot outrun the pursuing soldiers."
"And another thing is, we can't find it!"
"So far, I've noticed that the Empire hasn't captured any Anti-Government Armed Forces leaders, let alone effectively destroyed any Anti-Government Armed Forces groups..."
The atmosphere in the room suddenly became very oppressive. In just two years, the situation in the Amelia Region had deteriorated to such an extent that, not only had they failed to destroy any organizations, they hadn't even captured a single person with a name or a name.
The core issues leading to the current state of military decay are the three key problems pointed out by Lin Qi.
Can't beat them, can't outrun them, can't find them.
Even the strongest boxer cannot defeat an enemy he can never reach.
No one had ever presented the problem in such a simple, clear, and transparent way before, which gave the emperor some hope. He then asked, "How do you intend to solve these problems?"
"As the most powerful countries in the world and allies, the Bayer Federation and the Gefra Empire should engage in comprehensive cooperation across a wide range of fields and set an example for maintaining the World Peace process."
"Of course, to avoid any trouble, please allow me to introduce the business of one of my companies..." Lin Qi looked at everyone present. When he smiled, even the Army Minister, who had just been somewhat embarrassed, felt less hostile towards Lin Qi.
"I have a company called Blackstone Security, which currently has more than 3,700 employees. In addition to providing various security services to individuals and enterprises on a daily basis, the company can also accept some international security orders from countries."
Someone chimed in, "Isn't this just Private Armed Force group?"
Lin Qi was interrupted. He turned his head and glanced in the direction from which the sound came. This time, however, his gaze was slightly different, and those who were looked at by him felt some pressure.
Then he turned to look at the Imperial Emperor again, "Blackstone Security is a legally registered company, and our business is permitted by Federal Law. This is the easiest solution I have found for you."
"Mercenary warfare!"
"Once we sign the agreement, you will not need to worry about your soldiers. They can stay behind reliable fortifications for a long time and leave the most difficult and dangerous combat work to me."
"I will have my subordinates, those employees who have undergone the most rigorous and professional military training, handle all the business."
"They can fight, they can outrun, and they can be found, and Your Majesty, you can do all this by paying a negligible commission, less than the pensions of the Gefra soldiers."
"I also promise you and gentlemen that we are very fast!"
The Army Minister, who had almost lost his composure just moments before, interjected, "How fast?"
Lin Qi turned to look at him, and the two stared at each other for a moment without fear, neither looking away, their gazes locked in a tense standoff.
About ten seconds later, Lin Qi turned to the emperor and said, "Give me a phone call and twenty-four hours, and I'll prove just how fast I can be!"
The emperor stared at Lin Qi for a few moments, then nodded.
Before long, a palace attendant brought Lin Qi a telephone. He mentioned the phone in front of everyone and dialed a number.
The emperor's royal butler squinted at the number for a long time, then whispered in the emperor's ear, "It's a number from the Amelia Region..."
"Bell..."
The Major, who was on leave, was watching TV with no time in his mind. He had been assigned to Li Ya for some time now and thought it would be a tough job, but to his surprise, it wasn't that hard.
They had a very comfortable time during this period, except for being a little bored.
Major's Lin Qi Lynch's Blackstone Security was actually arranged by the Federal Army. Lin Qi's extensive recruitment of veterans was already known to the Department of Defense and the Army, but he had one very special trait: he did not hide his intentions from others.
Whether it was the Department of Defense or Mr. Truman's inquiries, he stated his purpose directly: to make money! He wanted to use these veterans' military expertise to make money for himself. It sounded a bit unpleasant, but his frankness made it less difficult to accept.
Especially when Lin Qi decided to intervene in the armed conflict in the Amelia Region, the Army decided to send some people into Lin Qi's Blackstone Security.
It could be said that it was to monitor whether Lin Qi was engaging in any behavior that could endanger National Security, or it could be said that after the Navy became Federal Hero, the Army was unwilling to remain unknown.
The Navy proved its strength through a naval battle, so what about the Army? It's clear that the Army hasn't stopped its downsizing plans. On one hand, the Federal Government sees reducing the Army as the best way to appease other countries.
Without an army, they cannot wage an invasion war. No matter how dire the situation, their fleet can only bombard the inland seas for a period of time before they leave once they have had their fill of fighting.
Having an army makes all the difference; an army can advance layer by layer to occupy and invade territory until a country is destroyed.
The army is certainly unhappy about being inexplicably downsized, but it is a strategic issue for the country, and they cannot resist it. The only way is to prove to the Federal Government and even the world that they are no weaker than the navy.
Only in this way can the army have more say within the official system.
The problem is that the Federal cannot launch wars against countries without a reason. How can the Army prove its excellence without war? Just then, Lin Qi and Blackstone Security arrival gave the Army some opportunities to demonstrate its strength. Under Mr. Truman's guidance, this cooperation, which everyone knew about but no one spoke of, began.
Major and his men are actually the army's elite. What they want to do is make the whole world aware of them!
