The Levels of Pursuit in Dining

In countries like the Bayer Federation, people often say with a mix of joking and resignation that taxes and death are things no one can avoid.

In fact, besides taxes and death, there is another thing that people cannot avoid, regardless of birth, aging, illness, or death: political stance.

The Bayer Federation has Three Major Parties, which is also required by the Bayer Federation Charter. At all times, there must be three parties vying for the power to govern within the Bayer Federation.

The Federal Progressive Party, the Federal Conservative Party, and the Federal Socialist Party, these three political factions, may appear to operate in a seemingly loose and liberal political environment, but in reality, they can sometimes be quite aggressive.

Even when prisoners are incarcerated, the court will have them fill out a questionnaire that includes the prisoner's political stance, and then arrange the prison and cell according to the questionnaire.

The Mayor very satisfied with Lin Qi's answer, reaction, and thoughts. Political stance was his last question. If Lin Qi had a different political stance, he would downplay Lin Qi's role in the matter and might even meet with some local capitalists to find a way to replace Lin Qi and send Lin Qi to another place.

It is simply impossible for a capitalist from another party to grow and thrive on Progressive Party territory, unless the Mayor decides to give up his future political life or switch sides to help Lin Qi rise to power for free.

Politicians and capitalists are always mutually reinforcing. Capitalists provide politicians with sufficient Political Donation, jobs, and more content related to urban development.

Similarly, politicians will also give back to capitalists what they want, such as preferential policies and development plans tailored to capitalists.

This requires mutual trust and close cooperation between the two parties. People cannot trust "outsiders"; they only trust "their own people."

Who are "one of us"? Obviously, those who share the same political stance and unite for the same goal are our "one of us".

Fortunately, Lin Qi's answer satisfied him greatly, and he didn't mind bringing Lin Qi into the Progressive Party. Allowing the power of capital to infiltrate political parties was not a scandal in the Bayer Federation; behind every well-known politician was the support of capitalists or even conglomerates.

Without the support of these people, even the most brilliant politician cannot accomplish anything on this magical land!

Of course, the political environment in Bayer is still very loose, at least on the surface. There has never been any political persecution against ordinary people. People can say in the morning that they are a member of the Progressive Party and in the afternoon that they can switch their stance to support the Conservative Party. No one will say anything to them. At most, some ordinary people will call them shameless.

Such an environment is indeed very relaxed. No substantial application is required, no lengthy review and approval process is needed. Just a word or a word of approval is all it takes to complete the whole process.

However, once one leaves the lower rungs of society and enters the Upper Class, the political environment becomes relatively more restrictive. For people like capitalists and politicians, changing their stance is not an easy task, and they can easily cause trouble if they are not careful.

There are other, more complex situations involved, but those are irrelevant now.

Before attending the banquet, Lin Qi had done some research and had some understanding of the Progressive Party. His words just now were not entirely flattery to the Mayor.

In his view, the Progressive Party is indeed much better than the Conservative Party, which is currently in power. The Conservative Party's political platform is to focus on development, which is also the reason why isolationism has been so prevalent in recent years.

From one perspective, the Bayer Federation's Bayer Federation of involvement in international conflicts and wars, and its efforts to develop its technology and industry behind closed doors, seem to have enabled it to make significant progress in certain areas.

However, this also sowed the seeds of future problems for the Bayer Federation.

People may not realize it yet, but with the development of technology, the concept of Blue Star will change from "planet" to "village".

It takes about a month and a half to travel from the Bayer Federation to the farthest Zalisk United Kingdom, including both land and sea routes. People are not interested in such a distant country, nor do they believe that such a distant country can influence the Bayer Federation.

However, when airplanes or other faster modes of transportation emerge in the future, they will greatly shorten people's perception of distance. It is possible to depart in the morning and arrive in the Zalisk United Kingdom in the afternoon or the next day.

Today's rejection of the outside world will inevitably lead to the isolation of the Federal in the future—when other countries begin to develop rapidly through exchanges, the Federal will gradually fall behind and eventually be eliminated.

While the Conservative Party is still singing praises of isolationism, the Bayer Federation has already encountered some problems, and if these problems cannot be resolved in a short period of time, they will inevitably affect the future for a long time to come.

Compared to the Conservative Party, the Progressive Party's political platform and its ideology are clearly more in line with global development trends and Lin Qi's needs for the future.

Integrating into the international community is the right choice!

He shared some of his views on his dissatisfaction with the Conservative Party, which resonated well with the Mayor.

Sometimes you don't need to praise someone; you can gain their appreciation simply by criticizing their opponent. And this appreciation will satisfy them more than mere flattery.

"Your insights are very advanced..." The Mayor's smile remained. He paused here, the door to the room opened, Ferral quickly observed the expressions of the two men before telling them that lunch was ready.

Ferral was relieved by the harmonious atmosphere between the two. Lin Qi was a guy who looked young and sometimes seemed a little shy, but was actually very opinionated and tough. He was afraid that this guy would fall out with the mayor, but it seemed that the two got along well.

"Shall we fill our stomachs first?" The Mayor's slightly conciliatory tone and the smile on his face shocked Ferral even more. Those in power don't openly show their preferences, but they do so through subtle details.

This questioning tone didn't often occur in the Mayor's work life, Ferral increasingly felt that Lin Qi was a magical boy.

Lin Qi stood up and straightened his clothes. "Of course, Your Excellency!"

The two entered the restaurant, where there were only two seats and two sets of tableware at the table. Ferral's dining area was not here, even though he was the Mayor Attendant Official.

According to the plan, Ferral should have said goodbye and gone to dinner at this time, as there were dedicated waiters. However, he took over the waiter's job, wanting to hear how Lin Qi had impressed the Mayor.

After the two sat down, the mayor glanced at Ferral, who was opening a bottle of wine, and then looked away. He thought Ferral was very sensible, knew that some things were not suitable for others to hear, and was a reliable person.

Today's lunch is a combination of steak and fish fillet, cooked on a T-bone steak base. One dish allows you to enjoy three different styles of food and experience a wider variety of flavors. This is the happiness of the wealthy.

While the poor were still trying to fill their stomachs, they had already begun to seek more variety in flavors, more distinct layers of texture, and the lingering aftertaste in their mouths.

For the poor, eating is the only real eating; it's simply about filling their stomachs.

For the wealthy, eating is an enjoyment; putting food into their stomachs is simply an unavoidable process.
