Winter's Fall (I)
"Frost Scourge has struck!"
"Long live the Embers of the Burned Kingdom!"
The battle became increasingly chaotic, with the army of the Embers of the Burned Kingdom clashing with the Frost Giant, a continuation of the Dragon and Giant War tens of thousands of years ago Embers of the Burned Kin, flowing with the blood of Red Dragon, and the Frost Giant, who continued the bloodline of giants, fought each other, unleashing the brutal power buried deep in their blood.
"It's time to end this."
Keosius stood atop the mountain, looking down upon the fierce battle.
This Human Noble, ignored by the giants, was surrounded by shimmering magical light. His body expanded rapidly, eventually transforming into a massive twenty-meter-long Red Dragon.
Keosius did not rush into the battle. A surge of chaotic magical power coursed through his body, and dozens of spells he had prepared were instantly activated under the influence of super magic— Calamity Dragon Eye, Graceful Dragon, Energy Scales, Undying Reverse Scale, Protection from Energy Damage, Enhance Ability, and Greater Shield Spell. Accompanied by powerful magical fluctuations, dazzling magical light shone on the Red Dragon's body, bursting out with astonishing power.
This is the spellcasting ability of True Dragon Sorcerer. Combined with the Red Dragon's abundant Magic Equipment, the power of his spells reaches an exaggerated level.
"Roar--"
A long, drawn-out dragon roar came from the mountaintop.
Both the Embers of the Burned Kin and the Frost Giant looked up in unison.
However, their feelings were different; some were excited and thrilled, as if witnessing a god descending, while others were worried and terrified.
Even the usually reckless Baya was dumbfounded at this moment:
"How could something like this exist in Anzeta? It's only been sixty years!"
The Frost Giant Priest prayed repeatedly, "By Solem, is this... is this still a dragon from the Third Era?"
The Red Dragon hovered high atop the mountain, slowly flapping its wings. Between its crown-like swept-back horns hung an intangible Golden Vertical Pupils, seemingly able to see through everything, which terrified any intelligent creature.
His massive and powerful body was covered with golden and red scales, surrounded by energy fragments like stardust, and even had a layer of lightning coating. Various strange and dazzling energies swirled around his body.
Every time the Red Dragon flapped its wings, thunder and lightning would crackle and flames would roar in the air, even controlling the weather, with billowing clouds of steam following closely behind.
"An overconfident Frost Giant."
"You will not only lose the glory of your ancestors, but also—everything in the future!"
After making its final declaration, Keosius swept across the sky. Unlike the usual impression of Red Dragon as strong yet clumsy, this Red Dragon, while possessing a powerful body, also displayed an even more terrifying speed.
"Whoosh—"
The air was suddenly torn apart, and a piercing shriek came from it.
The enormous twenty-meter-long body transformed into a massive afterimage as it swooped down, tearing the sky apart like a crimson scalpel. Before the Frost Giant could recover from their shock, the Red Dragon charged into the enemy ranks.
Keosius rampaged through the enemy territory as if it were his own, and any giant that came into contact with him was instantly engulfed by lightning and fire.
His body often transforms into overflowing lightning and fire, like a moving natural disaster.
The Frost Giant hurled spears, hand axes, and even poisoned arrows with all their might—methods that were exceptionally effective for hunting White Dragon —but they were all in vain before Keosius, almost all of which were blocked by his heavy magic.
During the time the Red Dragon broke in, almost every breath was accompanied by the death of at least several Frost Giant Warrior.
Such a one-sided slaughter was simply unimaginable for the Frost Giant, who were used to crushing their enemies.
"When--"
Another crisp collision sound.
Dolo's Bloodfire Battle Axe shattered instantly; he could barely withstand Kasa's axe blows and was nearly beheaded.
But he showed no sign of discouragement; instead, he laughed triumphantly, "Hahaha! You foolish big guys, I told you long ago, the master wouldn't leave you any way out!"
"Even if you manage to kill me by some miracle, your Frost Giant will be wiped out!"
Kasa gripped the Winter's Roar in his hand, gazing at the distant battlefield, watching the Red Dragon, like a grim reaper, amidst the Frost Giant.
Unexpectedly, the Frost Giant's face did not show the fear, tension, or despair that Dolo had anticipated—but was filled with surging fighting spirit.
He grinned maliciously, picked up Winter's Roar, even licking the blood seeping from the corner of his mouth.
"Has it finally come to this?"
Do you know—
"Besides the Bone Breaker, do I have another nickname?"
Dolo was particularly wary of Kasa's unusual behavior, but couldn't help asking, "What?"
"Child of Winter!"
The Frost Giant rubbed the Winter's Roar in his hand, actually peeling off the blood-stained metal shell to reveal its purest essence—a battle axe made of pure ice crystals, containing unimaginable magical power.
Solem, the Frost Giant and God of Cold, disappeared after the fall of the Giant Empire, following Annan's disappearance. But before falling into a deep slumber, the protective Solem divided a tiny fraction of his divine power into hundreds of parts and bestowed them upon his surviving descendants. One of these parts, held by Kasa, is the purest form of Everfrost Power.
A glint of light flashed in his eyes, and his whole body emanated a chilling aura, surrounded by a layer of Cold Divine Light.
Kasa gripped the Winter's Roar, like a demigod among mortals.
The Frost Giant's blood was cold, but his fighting spirit burned fiercely as he roared at the sky.
"Red Dragon! Your empty spells cannot frighten the great Frost Giant Warrior!"
"In the name of Frost Giant Father Solem, the God of Cold and father of the frost giants, I hereby grant you eternal death!"
"Your strong body will be frozen into ice, then crushed into dust!"
"Your head will become the most eye-catching piece in my hall of fame!"
As he roared, the cold wind howled and danced, and a fierce blizzard swept in again, lifting him up.
The Frost Giant Priest hurriedly chanted ancient incantations, bestowing upon him various powerful blessing spells, which made the howling wind even stronger.
A cold wind howled through the air, carrying a call from the ancient wilderness, a sound that seemed somewhat urgent.
Did you hear that?
"The Father God knows your name; your days are numbered, Red Dragon!"
Kasa smugly assumed a listening posture, laughed heartily, and rode the blizzard into the sky.
As a genuine Frost Giant, and possibly even the Chosen One of the God of Cold, his ability to control the cold wind far surpasses that of Oliver, who is only half-baked.
The blizzard surrounding him was fraught with danger, containing many ice spikes imbued with a high concentration of Everfrost Power. Even if Keosius were to take a hit head-on, he would definitely not fare well.
