Ashardalon
"With a demon from the Abyss? Do you really think I'm one of those Red Dragon with magma in their heads?"
Keosius, controlling his Incarnation of Flame, let out a cold laugh.
"Whether it's gods or demons, they are all just following the rules that govern the world. I don't see anything wrong with that."
Jezal Slack simply gazed at the avatar and said as if reciting poetry, "There's something I wanted to tell you ten years ago."
The demon slightly raised its head, the fire of vengeance in its eyes burning even brighter.
"Keosius, your mother was murdered by Half-elf, half-human hybrid, and even you fled in disarray. This is a complete insult to the noble dignity of the Red Dragon."
"Don't you want to take revenge on them?"
The voice was like a black hole, drawing others' thoughts into Abyss.
But Keosius merely spread his wings slightly and calmly said, "Do you think I lack the ability now? To take revenge on humanity? Hundreds of thousands submit to my dragon's might, and millions tremble beneath my wings throughout Anzeta."
"Whether or not I seek revenge is entirely up to me, not to a Abyssal Devil trapped in the Astral Plane, struggling to survive itself."
Jezal Slack shook his head with some regret and scoffed, "That's really harsh. It would really hurt me."
"As expected, the trajectory of fate has changed. I don't know who intervened, but you are no longer the same person you used to be."
"Tsk tsk, it's a pity that I exhausted all my efforts to spy on the fate of the Prime Material Plane and practiced my lines hundreds and thousands of times, but in the end I couldn't use them."
Keosius stared intently at the gaunt, grotesque face, noticing that the other man seemed completely unconcerned.
"If this is all you've got in mind for bringing me here, then the negotiations can end here. Your vague notion of revenge is of no use to me."
"As for cooperating with you? I'm afraid that deformed Frost Giant is the ultimate fate of those who cooperate with demons—turning to ashes and offering everything to the Abyss."
The demon met his gaze without a second thought.
"You mean Koman?"
"That's nothing more than a cheap consumable."
His voice was dismissive, as if he were describing an ant that could be crushed with a flick of the wrist.
"Moreover, I am not one of those Lemure who like to manipulate the terms of contracts."
"Did that Frost Giant really not get what he wanted? In just three short years, he acquired power comparable to that of the Balor, and being able to launch a head-on charge against an enemy he could never defeat was already a great honor. And all he paid for was a mere pittance of his life."
"To me, his only purpose in being here is to allow you to come to the Astral Plane."
The demon paused, his expression revealing excitement.
"But you are different. You are my perfect collaborator, my destined contractor. You can become the new king with me and the creator of the new world."
Jezal Slack's tone was incredibly fervent and sincere, leaving no trace of pretense; Keosius couldn't find the slightest flaw in his emotions.
Keosius's pupils flashed, his expression one of sarcasm.
"As expected of the so-called ' Revenge Lord,' he can make it sound so noble by treating contractors as expendable pawns."
"So what would I gain if I cooperated with you? Would I also become a foolish Balor?"
Jezal Slack didn't care about the sarcasm in the Red Dragon's words; instead, he showed excitement, and a mysterious smile appeared on his face.
"Of course not, my dear collaborator."
Do you know Ashardalon?
Keosius paused for a moment, but did not show it.
He had heard of this name in rumors from his previous life. It was said to be a terrifying Red Dragon of unknown Challenge Rating, known as the "Heart of Profanity." It lived in a mysterious region called the Infant Spirit Prism Fortress in the Sea of Stars, and was even worshipped as a god by many cults.
In the previous 4.0 version, more than a dozen top players who had broken through the level 20 mark accepted a quest and went to Narron Castle together, only to be wiped out, which became a sensational news story on the forums.
But the demon's deep eyes seemed to see through the Incarnation of Flame to the Red Dragon's Prime Material Plane and noticed the strangeness in his expression.
"It seems you've heard of him."
Jezal Slack let out a low laugh.
The heavy iron chains wrapped around the demon rattled as he slowly raised his thin arm. Countless chaotic mists in the distance gathered, forming a huge curtain in the void.
Keosius immediately became alert, ready to sever ties with the Incarnation of Flame at any moment.
But the demon saw through him again and laughed, "Don't be nervous, this is just a small demonstration."
Keosius immediately calmed down and began to build a mental barrier—if he continued like this, he would only be led by the nose by this cunning old devil until he unknowingly fell into Abyss.
He manipulated his Incarnation of Flame to turn around and look at the chaotic smoke curtain in the sky.
The chaotic fog churned and surged, creating a bizarre scene.
The creature on it roughly resembles an Ancient Red Dragon in its prime, but with some strikingly strange features.
The Red Dragon had a demonic face, a terrible scar on its chest, and was shaped like a large winged humanoid creature—a Balor. Its eyes were like two glowing, burning flames, and tiny lights constantly emanated from between its claws and teeth.
"What a magnificent work of art! This is Ashadron, an arrogant Red Dragon with limitless power. When he suffered a fatal blow, the dragon summoned a Balor to bind to his chest as a second heart, thus gaining near-immortality."
"Haha, I also know that poor demon, the Soul Eater Emit. He was very powerful, and I once considered eating him, but I never thought he could only scream in agony inside Ashardalon's chest now."
The demon explained excitedly and with great enthusiasm.
"It is indeed very powerful."
Keosius looked up at the terrifying Red Dragon and echoed the exclamation, but he was not swayed by its immense power.
A strange thought arose in his mind: if this "Revenge Devil" were embedded in his chest, would the consciousness controlling this body still truly be his own? Or would it be like the infamous "Ship of Theseus" paradox, where after his body was infected by the Abyss and his parts were Energy Substitution, would the newly born demonic creature still be his original self?
Koman has returned to the Abyss.
Perhaps the original Keosius was already dead.
He died from the sweet talk of this "Revenge Lord" Jezal Slack.
He believed he was avenging his mother, but in reality, his mind had already been twisted by the Abyss Will, and he had become part of the boundless chaos, sacrificing everything to expand the Abyss.
While the demon was reveling in the illusion, Keosius quietly opened the panel to spy on his information; the [Calamity Dragon Eye] was shimmering with a faint light.
