Misha's Resolve
Several months ago, old John's body was burned to ashes by soldiers.
At that moment, the hatred and anger in Misha's heart surged forth like a flood, shattering the last vestiges of peace in her heart.
A raging fire seemed to ignite in her heart, enveloping her body and causing her to curl up in a corner, unable to extricate herself.
At that very moment, she suddenly discovered that she possessed the ability to create and manipulate flames. It seemed to be an innate talent, catalyzed by Old John's death.
"Thud."
Misha opened her palm, and a dancing flame ignited in her hand.
The flames were intense and bright, as if they were the embodiment of her inner self.
"Release this power, and perhaps that will attract Mr. Lang Pu's attention."
"He might even gain His Majesty's favor and then personally avenge Old John."
A fire seemed to ignite in her brown pupils, whether a reflection of the flames on her hands or a reaction to her changing mood, it was hard to tell.
Misha slowly raised her hand.
"Boom!"
With a loud bang, a long dragon of fire was released from her palm and shot straight into the sky.
Flames burst open in the sky, scattering Mars everywhere.
"What is that?"
"It's magic!"
"It's so hot! Let's get out of here!"
Under this intense heat, the air itself seemed to distort slightly, and the surrounding crowd was in chaos, scrambling to find shelter.
"It's an enemy attack!"
"Protect Mr. Lang Pu!"
"Damn it! Who dares to charge into the enemy formation?"
The servants, armed with Steel Gun, rushed into the panicked crowd, searching for the source of the spell, only to find a girl who was only eight or nine years old.
"You don't need to look anymore, it's me."
Misha stared directly at the servants without any attempt to conceal herself, her hands outstretched, revealing the flames dancing in her palms.
"It's that girl!"
"It's her!"
"She was the one casting the spell just now! Catch her!"
The captain of the guards quickly raised his spear and shouted, not wanting to fail in his duty with Chief Minister Lang Pu in the presence of everyone.
The surrounding guards also nervously surrounded him, constantly tightening their encirclement, preparing to capture the unidentified spellcaster.
Suddenly, Lang Pu's voice rang out.
"Stop."
"Don't be too nervous, how could flames possibly hurt me?"
"You, you're right."
The captain of the guards quickly lowered his head and responded nervously.
Lang Pu descended slowly from mid-air, gently tapping the ground with his staff, and looked down at the girl surrounded by the army not far away.
He was observing carefully.
It looked to be about eight or nine years old, with a petite and slender figure. Its smooth skin had some dirt on it, but there were no signs of dragonification.
The girl was trembling with extreme nervousness, but she still looked at him from afar with a firm and stubborn gaze, and was not frightened by the tense situation.
According to Lang Pu's estimation, the power of that spell had reached the level of a third-circle sorcerer—meaning that she was very likely born with a talent close to that of a fifth-level Sorcerer!
Immediately, Lang Pu narrowed his eyes slightly, revealing an expression of great interest.
"Natural Sorcerer?"
"It is truly rare to possess this level of spellcasting ability without having received a blessing."
"She can become a force for the kingdom."
Thinking of this, Lang Pu slowly stepped forward, revealing what he thought was an exceptionally kind smile, and said softly, "Child, don't be too nervous. I am Lang Pu, the kingdom's Chief Minister."
Is there something you need?
However, when Misha looked up, the Ogre's enormous figure enveloped her, a sinister smile on its ugly face, revealing even its long, curved fangs.
She could almost smell the stench of blood emanating from the ground.
But in the end, supported by her will, she was not intimidated, though her body trembled like a leaf.
Misha finally spoke timidly, "Lord Lang Pu."
"Me, me"
She gritted her teeth and remained silent for a moment, finally making a decision. "I want to see His Majesty!"
"Oh?"
"Mr. Lang Pu, I wish to see His Majesty."
Misha pleaded again, her words weak but firm and sincere.
Lang Pu slowly shook his head, tapped the ground lightly with his staff again, and turned halfway around. "There are countless people who want to see His Majesty. Some are after wealth; some after power; some after strength; and some simply want to admire His Majesty's majestic figure."
He turned his head and lowered his voice.
"And you—what is it for?"
"Me, me"
Misha hesitated for a moment, but answered firmly, "I want to avenge my grandfather, who died in the Margur Incident."
Lang Pu replied calmly, "Then your wish should have come true. Just two months ago, Marshal Dolo led the Kingdom's army to annihilate the the North Alliance. The Kingdom has avenged you."
Misha shook her head vigorously and said through gritted teeth:
"No, it's not over yet. It was that damned Leo Bosk who orchestrated the incident. He escaped with the help of demons and hasn't received the trial he deserves."
"I want to kill him with my own hands."
Misha's eyes were filled with tears, and a spark of fire suddenly flashed in her pupils.
"Interesting."
A smile immediately appeared in Lang Pu's eyes, and he casually waved to the guards around him.
"Everyone, disperse. She's just a brave child. There's no need to be so wary of her."
"Yes, sir."
"I will obey your command."
The guards tactfully withdrew.
Then, the enormous Ogre slowly crouched down, its massive body resembling a mountain of flesh—even crouching, it was still much taller than the girl in front of it.
Lang Pu looked down into the girl's brown eyes and asked softly, "Child, tell me, what's your name?"
"Misha, my name is Misha."
"This is the name my grandfather John, gave me."
Misha mustered all her courage, raised her head, and looked directly into the Ogre's eyes; her voice was no longer trembling.
Lang Pu stood up, smiled, and said:
"Very good, Misha."
"Come, I will take you to the palace. I believe His Majesty will be very happy to see you."
The Ogre Archmage gently raised his staff, and an invisible force lifted him and Misha, suspending them high in the air.
"Ah."
Misha couldn't help but gasp, but she suppressed her excitement and only occasionally looked curiously at the ground.
It all feels like a dream.
The Half-goat Human sounded their war drums again and played stirring military music. The attendants quickly formed neat ranks and once again escorted Lang Pu forward.
The triumphant ceremony continued, while the surrounding crowd discussed it with envy—wishing they could rush up and take the place of the Ogre, becoming the one standing next to him.
"Who is she? How dare she be qualified to stand by Lord Lang Pu's side?"
"What a lucky guy."
"How enviable!"
"Yes, to have gained the favor of the Chief Minister, it seems another great figure is about to be born."
