Elves and Orcs
Deep within the High Forest, in the Serenia Royal Court.
A clear, melodious bird song rang out.
A bird with pure white wings flew across the lake at dawn, flitting through the dense forest before gracefully landing in the palace, bringing news from the north.
On the windowsill deep within the royal court, the crowned Elven Queen stretched out her arm, allowing a bird to perch on its slender hand and occasionally take the letter from its beak.
Catherine patted the bird's wings and smiled gently, "Thank you. Go back now and thank the Harpers for me."
The bird flapped its wings and soared into the sky, seemingly Become One with the azure sky. In the blink of an eye, it vanished into the air, leaving behind only a few spotless white feathers.
Catherine then opened the letter in her hand and browsed through the messages. Soon, she covered her mouth slightly, her beautiful eyes revealing shock and panic.
She raised her head, looked north, and murmured to herself, "This, how is this possible?"
Outside the door, Half-elf female general, clad in light armor and exuding a valiant air, strode in and asked with concern, "Your Majesty, what has happened?"
Catherine turned around and said, "Rhea, you've come at the right time. The latest intelligence from the Harpers is that the High Mountain Kingdom has been destroyed."
Rhea's pupils dilated in shock. "What? Who did this?"
Catherine said helplessly, "Who else could it be but the Embers of the Burned Empire? Their excuse of eliminating the orc threat to occupy Avendell Dan is a ridiculous one."
Rhea frowned. "Where is Ed, the Lord of the High Mountains?"
Catherine sighed, "He died a heroic death in the siege, supposedly killed by a Evil Dragon Kin."
Rhea gasped in shock. She knew all too well the strength of that Lord of the High Mountains —he was definitely a peak legendary expert, and even she herself didn't have a sure chance of winning.
The Red Dragon only sent one of its minions, yet it completely killed Ed! This clearly demonstrates the formidable strength of the Embers of the Burned Empire!
"And this is not the end. After the death of the Lord of the High Mountains, the guardian deity of the Shield Dwarves Dumasong, descended upon the world, and the emperor of the Embers of the Burned Empire was also summoned, unleashing an Earth-Shattering battle."
However, Catherine continued, "In the end, Dumasong left the Material Plane, and Avendell Dan was also occupied by the Embers of the Burned Empire."
After saying that, Catherine handed the letter in her hand to Rhea.
"This, this is really..."
Rhea quickly took the letter, scanned it several times until she confirmed that the information was complete and accurate, and then said in a deep voice, "Incredible."
You must know that was a god! Even the incarnations of the gods possess power and might that mortals cannot imagine. Those who defy divine authority will surely perish, yet that Red Dragon was able to force back a god! In that instant, the guess hidden in Rhea's heart began to waver.
How could a young dragon that had only existed for a few decades possibly possess the strength to fight against a god? Perhaps, perhaps the Lawful Neutral Red Dragon in her memory had long since died in the mountains, while the Embers of the Burned Emperor was a genuine ancient evil dragon, an existence that had existed for countless ages. Catherine gave a bitter smile, shook her head, and then went to the window, resting her chin on her hand and sighing, "Yes, it's unbelievable."
That Dwarf kingdom, which had formed Holy Alliance with us in Serenia and lasted for thousands of years, was destroyed in just a few days. It's utterly ridiculous.
Rhea said solemnly, "Your Majesty, as I have told you, this world has become turbulent. It is simply impossible for us Elf to bury our heads in the forest like ostriches."
Catherine nodded. "Rhea, you rushed over here this time, are you here to persuade me to launch a coup?"
"You guessed right, Your Majesty." Rhea's voice became anxious.
"With the fall of the High Mountain Kingdom, this matter has become extremely urgent. If a coup is not launched soon, the corrupt members of the Council of Elders will lead the Moon Elves into the Abyss! Your Majesty, the High Mountain Kingdom has fallen. Who will be the next prey of that greedy dragon? When the day comes that disaster befalls Serenia, it will be too late."
"Okay, I agree."
"What, you?" Rhea was somewhat surprised.
After all, Rhea had tried to persuade her several times before, to no avail.
The Elven Queen remained hesitant and reluctant to launch a coup, feeling that she was not yet fully prepared.
Catherine looked at Rhea, her hands clutching the silver New Moon pendant at her chest, her pale purple eyes revealing an unwavering conviction.
"By the moon goddess Sehanine, we have been planning for too long, and it is time to bring an end to the rule of those stale ones."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Rhea knelt down, unable to hide her excitement, and said, "The Harpers will send over a hundred extraordinary individuals and three legendary powerhouses as reinforcements."
The Silver Moon Followers Legion is also ready, and every member is absolutely loyal to you. As long as it is the Holy Day, we can attack the Sacred Tree at any time.
"And Lord Trafalano of the Arcane Hermit Order, who promised to send twenty silver-robed mages."
Catherine said, "By the way, Rhea, do you also know the Ancient Gold Dragon Titus, known as the ' Dawn Wing '?"
"Yes, Your Majesty, Titus is also a just and selfless strongman," Rhea replied truthfully.
"Let's invite him over as well."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
This is far more than just a coup—it's a war, a war we must win. That powerful Golden Dragon should be able to provide us with a lot of help.
On the day of the holy day, the dark clouds that have shrouded Serenia will finally dissipate, and the sacred moonlight will once again bathe the earth.
Catherine raised her head and looked at the magnificent and towering Sacred Tree in the distance, her violet eyes shining with an unprecedented light.
A turbulent era is coming.
And she will lead Serenia, and her Elf people, to find a bright new path for them in this turbulent world filled with war.
But the Elven Queen never imagined that her casual remark would become the beginning of inviting wolves into her house.
Ugo Great Prairie.
The vast grassland was almost completely covered in green, but not the pale green of wild grass mixed with yellow; rather, it was an extremely dense and nauseating dark green.
Green mushrooms grew in clusters, densely packed, greedily absorbing the earth's energy and turning everything within reach into nourishment for the orcs.
"Click".
Suddenly, a cracking sound came from under the mushroom caps, followed by a sudden bulge in the soil, and then pairs of large, dark green hands burst out of the ground, their skins covered in slime.
One by one, strong and ferocious orcs emerged from the ground. Soon, these "newborns" adapted to the outside environment. They all raised their heads and roared to the sky, letting out a furious howl that resounded through the clouds.
"WAAAGH!!!"
In just a short time, hundreds more orcs were born on this grassland. The rate of reproduction was simply outrageous, and the grassland where they were born had been plundered into barren sand.
Then, these newborn orcs instinctively ran along the black river, surging into the valley like a tide. "Very good, very good, hahahaha, we have more and more Fighter! The Red Blood Tribe has never been so prosperous! Praise be to Father God Gruumsh!" Soro stood on the hilltop, laughing wildly.
At this moment, the Orc Chieftain had become even more ferocious, having long since surpassed the genetic limits of orcs.
He was a burly man with bulging muscles, nearly six meters tall. He wore ugly armor cobbled together from various scraps of metal and animal scales, painted with different colors, and his hands were equipped with huge claws.
After being transformed by some mysterious force, the originally somewhat taciturn temporary chieftain underwent a drastic change in temperament, becoming increasingly manic.
In fact, not only him, but all the orcs became stronger, more enthusiastic about fighting, and more fearless of death, making them veritable biological weapons.
Soro looked around and saw a throng of people at his feet, a constant noise, and a stench that rose to the sky—the valley was crammed with Green-skinned Orcs! Their numbers were beyond estimation.
If such a torrent of orcs were to appear before them, the Dwarf would probably tremble with fear. Soro had already imagined an incredibly wonderful scene in his mind.
He could almost see the Dwarf being torn apart by the beast tide, their corpses strewn everywhere, while he led the orcs in cheers atop the walls of Avendell Dan.
How wonderful that would be! He would fulfill the long-cherished wish of his people for thousands of years and become a hero of the orc race!
In this way, even if Batu were to be resurrected, upon seeing such a sight, he would probably have to respectfully bow his head and address him as "Chief"! Thinking of this, Soro became even more smug, and even his foul-smelling saliva dripped from the corner of his mouth.
"We already possess such great power, we deserve more living space. The great orc Gruumsh has endowed us with the innate right to plunder!"
We are born to wage war, to plunder the weak, and to take everything from them!
The Orc Chieftain raised his massive claw and roared, "My people, do you not want to conquer Avendell Dan and slaughter those damned Dwarf!"
"Think!"
"WAAGH!"
"Great, a fight is about to break out! I'm going to smash those shorty bastards into mincemeat!"
Suddenly, an orc riding Worg came rushing from afar, shouting, "Chieftain! Chieftain!! Avendell Dan has fallen! The High Mountain Kingdom is destroyed!"
"What?"
Soro was stunned for a moment, feeling bewildered and shocked. He hadn't even set out yet, so how could Avendell Dan have fallen?
No, it wasn't him! It wasn't even one of their orcish races! Then, the Orc Chieftain felt utterly ashamed and enraged. "Who! Who did this! That's our orcish land! How could they... how could they occupy Avendell Dan before us? This is a blatant insult! A provocation against the great orcish race!"
The orc messenger replied, "Yes, it's the Embers of the Burned Empire!"
"Bang!"
In a fit of rage, Soro slammed his fist into the rock beneath his feet, sending shards of rock flying and creating a huge crater.
"Damn it, those Dwarf bastards! It's the Embers of the Burned Empire again! They not only killed our envoys, but also stole the credit that should have belonged to us, to the orcs!"
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Soro unleashed a flurry of furious punches, smashing the hill until it howled in pain, its body riddled with cracks.
The Orc Chieftain was so enraged because the Embers of the Burned Empire had so easily accomplished what the orcs had failed to do for thousands of years—conquering Avendell Dan.
You should know that Avendell Dan is known as the "City That Never Falls" and is the royal capital of the Shield Dwarves.
For thousands of years, Dwarf and orcs have fought fiercely over this city, and millions of orcs have died there, with a river of bones even forming in the valley of the Path of Glory.
But the first to seize Avendell Dan was none other than the Embers of the Burned Empire, which appeared out of nowhere. How could Soro not be furious! "Kill them all!"
"Rob them all!"
"Let's go and take Avendell Dan back!"
The Green-skinned Orcs below were also enraged, roaring in unison, even though many of them were just born and did not yet understand what "Avendell Dan" and "Embers of the Burned Empire" were.
But they could tell one thing: a fight was about to break out! In just one month, millions of Green-skinned Orcs had multiplied on the Ugo Prairie. They swept across the entire grassland like locusts, devouring everything in sight—whether it was grass, trees, wild animals, or monsters.
What these orcs crave most now is a thrilling, reckless war that allows them to unleash the killing intent within every cell of their bodies.
Soro's eyes were bloodshot. He pulled out the spear beside him, raised it high, and roared, "Now that the High Mountain Kingdom is destroyed, our next target is the Embers of the Burned Empire! I heard their emperor is a dragon, so we'll cut off that giant reptile's head and use it as decoration! We'll break off his wings and make a tent, and we'll take off his Limbs and tail and stew them into soup!"
For Father God Gruumsh!
"WAAGH!!"
"For Father God Gruumsh!"
"Destroy the Embers of the Burned Empire!"
"Hahahaha! I'll taste what this dragon's flesh and blood really taste like!"
Upon hearing the news of the war, the Green-skinned Orcs erupted in cheers and roars, creating an incredibly enthusiastic atmosphere, as if they were going to a grand feast.
Orc Spores permeated the valley. As they swarmed, the eyes of these Green-skinned Orcs became bloodshot. Just like the principle behind locust plagues, when the Green-skinned Orcs reached a certain number and began to crowd together, preparing to start a war, they would secrete and release various chemical toxins, causing genetic mutations.
These orcs would become even wilder, more violent, and even devoid of pain, transforming into complete biological weapons—this is the "beast tide" that would later cause all things to tremble.
But these orcs were unaware that they were about to become test subjects for the Embers of the Burned Empire's new weapons.
