The first and second volumes of this book had originally been one whole: the four disciples, the Origin Civilization, and the Land of Finale. They were the beginning of the entire story, the process of building the stage. After finishing the first volume, I felt it ended at just the right point, so I made it a separate volume. As for the second volume, all I can say is that it was a hellish writing experience.
It was hard to imagine that, in my planning before starting this book, I thought these 530,000 words of content could be covered in 200,000 words.
Even after finishing the first volume with 100,000 words, I still thought the remaining 100,000 would be enough to cover Dugrabi, Lant, Mo Jia, the Mechanical Race, the Origin Civilization dream, and the Mysterious Garden—I really was a genius. How could that possibly have been enough space?
If you made it to the Emerald Continent dream at the end, you could probably clearly feel that the information density of that dream was different. Because the truth was, I was getting desperate. You all wanted to change maps quickly, and so did I.
So I cut the Silver Mirror Continent dream and reworked the Emerald Continent dream. Quickly search, fight, and extract—grab the intelligence that needed to be obtained, then call it done.
I also didn't dare show you Dream Mist instances again after the protagonist went to another world. It was fine that the map change had been delayed until now; at least there was nothing to compare it to, so I could write it all in one go. But if I switched to another world and then served up Dream Mist instances again, regardless of whether you could keep reading, I definitely wouldn't have been able to
