Background
Zhang Zhi grew up as an orphan from Yizhou. Although he later received a Special Enrollment Quota through a benefactor, his lack of family made him an easy target for Lei Aigou and the Night Shadow Gang, who kidnapped him to stop him from opening a Small World 2 25 28.
While imprisoned, Zhang Zhi suppressed his anger and secretly opened his Small World. He risked integrating a unique Daoist Apprentice Card, Human Cards, cultivation techniques, weather cards, and other resources to establish a viable foundation before his captors could dispose of him 3 4. Once his world’s Heaven and Earth Baptism healed his injuries, he used his Retainers to escape, psychologically broke Lei Aigou until he died of rage, eradicated the Night Shadow Gang, freed its captives, and fled Yizhou 6 7.
His potential was recognized during his school assessment, where Fang Yun effortlessly defeated a Footman Armor with a single palm strike. The principal and Li Qianjun subsequently secured Zhang Zhi’s admission to Seven Dragons Academy, where he began building connections, developing his Small World, and pursuing stronger cultivation paths 13 16 25.
Personality
Zhang Zhi is composed under pressure and highly pragmatic. During his kidnapping, he chose survival and long-term planning over impulsive retaliation; later, he used deception and psychological warfare against Lei Aigou rather than simply relying on force 3 6.
He is calculating and cautious about exposure. He accepts the identity of Daoist Hongjun when Li Qianjun needs bait to expose infiltrators, but repeatedly attempts to conceal his cultivation, world development, artifacts, and technological path when public attention becomes dangerous 41 197 216.
Despite his ruthlessness toward enemies and traitors, Zhang Zhi values loyalty, reciprocity, and people who supported him before he became influential. He remains grateful to Li Qianjun, the principal, the orphanage, and members of the Commoner Mutual Aid Society, while rejecting alliances built solely on status or personal gain 16 606 651.
He also learns from his own mistakes. Zhang Zhi recognizes when arrogance causes him to underestimate others, reflects on neglecting certain cultivation paths within his Small World, and adjusts his policies rather than clinging to past assumptions 34 39 317.
