Turning into a dragon was not strange. This was the second time Ian had experienced such a clear sensation of "becoming another creature." The last time had been when he accepted the Rust-Steel Dragon's inheritance and became its hatchling form within its memories.
But back then, Ian had merely experienced the Rust-Steel Dragon's growth and life through "memories," from a perspective almost like playing a game...
This time, however, it felt utterly real.
The first thing Ian felt was as though he were floating in an immensely dense mass of saltwater. His body was curled within a curved, enclosed space, and he had more limbs he could control than a human did. The tail behind him was especially distinct in his senses, because it curled around the outside of his body and pressed against the hard inner wall of that curved space.
This was a dragon egg. He was inside a dragon egg.
"Interesting."
Ian understood this in an instant. His reaction was much like when he had recovered his memories years ago, filled only with intense curiosity and amusement. "I probably didn't enter that nearly hatched, already cracked egg in the South Sea Grand Labyrinth. I entered one of the other two eggs that Master Gose took away and handed over to the Empire to raise."
"There's a connection between the Crystal Dragon eggs... This connection..."
"It's the Swarm's psychic network!"
If Ian had not obtained Swarm Ian's technology through the Guiding Star before this, he would certainly have needed some time to analyze exactly how he had transferred his consciousness into a "dragon egg."
But now, he could basically be certain that after being affected by the Swarm, the three dragon eggs left behind by the Aether Crystal Dragon had indeed developed a natural psychic connection almost identical
