Psionic awakening was, in essence, when certain people were born with sufficiently powerful mental strength. Their extreme enough emotions and clear enough demands could access the Great Aetheric Current, which would then return a psionic model to them.

It was not aether that granted psionic powers to all living beings. Rather, aether shaped the spiritual power within their hearts into the form of psionic models.

And these models were like randomly generated AI images. Even with the same keywords, the psionic power produced each time would be entirely different—someone who wished to see things far away might gain farsight, Thought Writing, astral projection, the power of a prophet...

This was the "precision" and "randomness" of psionic powers—awakening a psionic power would certainly provide a psionic model matching the required keywords, but precisely what it would be was anyone's guess.

Miles's psionic power had awakened because the mental strength of the dead souls had aided him, enhancing his ability to communicate with the Great Aether. Otherwise, relying on himself alone, he likely could not have embarked upon the path of psionic power.
