From the heights of Harrison Port, Ian withdrew his gaze and murmured, "Teacher said that if that Patrol Knight found no clues, he would not make a move."
"It seems the other side still discovered Teacher's true identity. That was what made him resolve to act."
The boy took a deep breath. Now was not the time for regret.
He analyzed the situation calmly. "I need to go home and wait. If Teacher sends no signal within five minutes, it means the situation is critical."
Burdened by heavy thoughts, Ian returned home. Elan had been waiting for him, unease showing on his fair little face.
Though Ian and Hilliard had said nothing, the boy was exceptionally sharp in such matters and sensed that something was wrong. "Big brother?"
"Don't worry, Elan... In a little while, I'll take you to Elder Pude's place to play for a while. Remember to behave."
"Mm-hm."
Holding his obedient little brother in his arms, Ian sat down in a chair and silently waited for the signal.
It never came.
"...It's time to go, Elan."
With a solemn expression, Ian did nothing unnecessary.
He rose and took Elan's hand. The young boy bit down on his lip as a vague unease swept through his heart, but he said nothing.
"Ian?"
Elder Pude was in the Elder Hall office. Having just received a message from Knight Yam, the old man was preparing to leave and ready the cannons.
He watched the boy and his younger brother in confusion, not quite understanding the situation. "What is it? Why have you brought Elan to see me today?"
"Elder, my psychic ability can see the future."
Ian's opening words made Elder Pude's eyes widen, his fists clenching instinctively.
Without the slightest hesitation, knowing that no one was
