Heavenly Venerables occupy the highest known tier of the three Immortal Venerable realms. Earth Venerables are identified as the second realm and can seal or strip a Human Venerable's Dao Fruit; Heavenly Venerables stand beyond them as the dominant powers of the Chaos Great Void when Profound Venerables do not intervene 1047 1123.

A Heavenly Venerable's power is tied to a Heavenly Venerable Dao Fruit and a Fate Palace. The Fate Palace has multiple levels; Li Yun assesses a seventh-level Fate Palace as neither top-tier nor bottom-tier among Heavenly Venerables. 1142

Heavenly Venerables can investigate fate and karmic destiny directly. One of Taiwu Divine Hall's nine Heavenly Venerables examines Hu Wei and identifies traces of an alteration to his fate and karma, though the source cannot be traced. 1075

• Their perception is not absolute: Li Yun's concealment can leave even Heavenly Venerables unable to detect his aura or calculate his whereabouts. 1070 1131

Heavenly Venerables are treated as ancient, near-unreachable powers. Their lifespans are vast enough for them to be regarded as ancient existences, and they can claim territories in the Chaos Great Void as personal domains. 1123

A newly advanced Heavenly Venerable's pressure alone is enough to frighten attending Human Venerables and Earth Venerables. 1201

The title Heavenly Venerable also appears in later settings. Those references do not, by themselves, establish that their bearers occupy the same three-realm Immortal Venerable hierarchy described above.

• Jade Tree Heavenly Venerable — A supreme figure of the Myriad God Realms who entrusts parts of his legacy and his subordinates' hidden divine realms to Li Yun. Their allegiance can determine whether a faction expands, survives, or becomes vulnerable to stronger rivals. Independent Heavenly Venerables are difficult to subdue because they retain the ability to flee or retaliate unless faced with overwhelming pressure or a stronger backing. 1130 1140

The deaths of Heavenly Venerables are major events that destabilize surrounding powers:

• Peacock Heavenly Venerable's sudden death alarms both Gufang Divine Hall and Dream God Hall. 1134 1135
• The subsequent deaths of Azure Sky and Yu Feng cause both factions to retreat into caution, fearing further attacks by Li Yun. 1142
