The Fantastic Four had wrapped things up and were about to head back when Tony's voice rang out again. "This is bad. Wade's disappeared. Doctor Doom has probably recruited him."

"How is that possible? He should have a mission too, shouldn't he? Making contact ahead of time isn't a big deal, but if Wade outright switches sides, the consequences will probably be severe."

Dr. Reed sounded astonished. Tony had guessed right: Doctor Doom really had gone to recruit Wade.

"Severe consequences? So what? It's not like he'll actually die."

Tony grumbled, "Even if the world ends, he'll still be alive and kicking. That guy defies all science. Even a Creation God can't figure out why he keeps dying but never stays dead.

"The threat posed by our missions only works on ordinary people like us. It can't touch that lunatic."

Tony felt a headache coming on. Wade was a double-edged sword. Holding him yourself still meant getting hurt, but at least the damage was smaller. Now that someone else held him, they were in trouble.

Never mind anything else—if Doctor Doom strapped a bunch of nuclear bombs to Wade and had him teleport into an enemy army, how many people could withstand that?

"Is his immortality really that incredible?"

Dr. Reed asked curiously. He wanted to capture Wade and study him right now. Could someone truly survive the destruction of the world?

"More incredible than you think. If you want to study him, you'll get a chance later, but don't get your hopes up. I've tried too, and I couldn't figure out a thing."

Tony added, "Also, don't listen to his nonsense, or you might go insane."

"Insane? As a scientist, how could I possibly go insane?"
