Of course, some ability users resisted to the bitter end, but there were not many of them. The demon showed them no mercy, injecting them with black energy to knock them unconscious and take them back as sacrifices.
"Good. You lot, take these unconscious ability users and the ordinary people back."
The demon was very pleased with the outcome. He ordered, "Everyone else, bring these followers of the Great Demon God and follow me to the next location. We're saving humanity, after all, so they won't have to hide anymore."
The monsters roared with laughter. By contrast, the ability users who had surrendered looked grim. The demon's words were utterly disgusting. Still, a thought occurred to some of them: Maybe siding with the monsters is humanity's real path to survival.
These ability users thought this partly because of their own cowardice. That was hardly unusual. As mentioned before, when Hell invaded the Human World, many people would choose to worship demons.
The other reason was naturally the Great Demon God's influence. Once they chose to worship him, his brand would appear on their souls. From then on, it would constantly influence them, making them more evil and more loyal.
At first, this brand could still be removed. But as time passed, it would gradually fuse with the worshipper. Once that happened, the worshipper would become the Great Demon God's servant, and reversing the process would be almost impossible.
