Carter swore. There were far more monsters than she had imagined, and they even knew how to attack multiple locations at once.

Left with no choice, Carter could only divert more troops and superheroes to rescue civilians. But the situation looked grim: there were simply too many monsters, and they were powerful.

Just then, the Daily Bugle's live broadcast split into two feeds. One showed the battle at the Collider Laboratory, while the other showed the battle at the camp.

Meanwhile, Roxanne began explaining where these monsters had come from.

These monsters were called symbiotes. They came from other planets, and their true forms were masses of viscous liquid. Once they left their home planet, they needed hosts to survive.

After merging with a host, a symbiote greatly enhanced the host's abilities and enabled them to heal and regenerate.

However, symbiotes and humans had to be compatible. If compatibility was too low, the human would die after being possessed for a while. If it was high enough, the symbiote would modify the human to make them a more suitable host.

"Fuck! We haven't even dealt with the parallel universe mess, and now we've got man-eating alien monsters!"

People cursed furiously. Earth really had far too many disasters.

"Are you kidding me? We're already homeless, and disasters are still coming after us?"

The New York citizens gritted their teeth and hurried back indoors as Roxanne instructed. Then they barricaded their doors and windows with cabinets and other furniture to keep the symbiotes from crawling inside.

"What a quiet, peaceful Earth. A donkey must have kicked me in the head back then. Why else would I have fallen for that Demon King's trick?"

Odin grumbled, scooped up Little Hela, who was eagerly preparing to fight the monsters, and retreated into their room.
