Before, they had not known the King of Negativity was the true culprit, so their hatred had piled up on the Negative Monsters. Now that they knew who was responsible, they naturally cursed the King of Negativity without end.
But it was only endless cursing. They would not cut paper dolls from their sleeves, beat one whenever they went out, beat another upon returning home, then beat one more before bed.
This was what Betty meant by being a little too pleased with themselves. Simply put, the King of Negativity's image was too vague and incomplete, which affected the effectiveness of the hatred.

Betty hesitated slightly. As long as Andrew was willing to spend resources, anything he instructed could certainly be accomplished. The question was whether it was worth it.
This was the End Times. Resources were needed everywhere. Spending them to build hatred felt wasteful no matter how she
