In the Endless Void, Serpent God Set sensed what had happened to the Apocalypse Fleet. He fell silent at first, then burst into curses. "Mechanical Demon King, is planting moles all you damn well know how to do? Can't you try something new? Moles all day, every day—don't you get sick of it?"
It was bad enough that the Alien Alliance and the Moon Battlefield had been crawling with moles, but even Kid Power was one?
Unless something unexpected happened, there were definitely moles among the Demon Kings, too. Using the same trick day after day was going too far.
Darkseid stared at Serpent God Set in astonishment, unable to understand why he had suddenly reacted so violently. Stay calm. To accomplish great things, you have to stay calm.
"A trick doesn't have to be new, as long as it works."
Trigon said, "Kid Power is my mole. What, is that a problem? Serpent God Set, I just love watching you become hysterical when your schemes fail."
"Kid Power is a mole?"
Darkseid froze, then cried out in disbelief, "How could Kid Power possibly be a mole? He nearly destroyed the world with Steppenwolf, and he often helped me sacrifice civilians."
"He really was a bad guy before, but now he wants to be a good guy. So he became one."
Trigon spoke casually. Villains turning over a new leaf was perfectly normal in American comic-book worlds. This wasn't a cops-and-robbers movie, where villains still had to go to prison after reforming.
In American comic-book worlds, some villains killed hundreds of thousands of people one moment and became good guys the next. Forget prison—they didn't even have to apologize.
"Damn you, Kid Power! I'll never let you get away with this!"
Darkseid cursed bitterly. Then something occurred to him, and
