As a device specifically used to adjust the environment, the Environment Adjustment Sandbox essentially modified the world based on existing conditions whenever it operated.

For example, when faced with a mountain, it could dismantle and reshape it, successfully transforming it into a desert, an ocean, metal... But it could never directly create the corresponding things from nothing and use them to cover the mountain.

To a certain extent, everyone could regard it as something that was at least somewhat scientific. Its operation required vast amounts of energy and matter to modify the world. It was not a reality-overwriting power that ignored every fundamental law.
