Unlike the Aurora Empire, which became a super empire by relying on the world's largest landmass, the Glorious Empire had always been one of the world's foremost nations.

Before it had come into full contact with the Second World and before the Steel Empire had risen, the Glorious Empire had practically unified the entire world. Of the world's nine continents, every one had contained its colonies. Even the Golden Eagle Empire, now dazzlingly prosperous and blessed with an exceptionally favorable environment, had broken away from the Glorious Empire two hundred years ago.

Although the Glorious Empire's rule had been repeatedly shaken over the past century by its increasingly frequent contact with the Second World and the rapid rise of martial artists and technology, forcing it to lose most of its colonial territories, its strength remained beyond question.

Even the Steel Empire, known as the successor to the Glorious Empire and possessing military power reputed to be the strongest in the world, had suffered setbacks at the hands of the Glorious Empire during its invasion of the West Flame Continent and had been forced to slow its advance toward world unification.

At that moment, deep within the magnificent Imperial Palace of the Glorious Empire, in a study steeped in history, William XII, the empire's supreme ruler, was solemnly watching the three people before him.
