Background / History

Lin Dong first appears at the Lin Family gathering as a reserved young member of the Flame City Branch Family. His father, Lin Xiao, carries the lasting consequences of being crippled by Lin Langtian, while Lin Dong is determined to protect his younger sister Qing Tan and restore his family’s standing. 1 2

During the Lin Family Competition, Lin Dong stops concealing his strength. He defeats Lin Yun, challenges Lin Hong after the latter targets Qing Tan, and wins first place through his perfected Eight Desolations Palm. 3

After meeting Wu Yun, Lin Dong cautiously reveals the Stone Talisman’s existence and abilities. The two exchange secrets—Lin Dong gains access to the Heavenly Mystery Skill, while Wu Yun gains access to the Stone Talisman’s refining functions—and become sworn brothers. 4 5
