In late autumn, Pillow City was deep in sleep. Li Banfeng and Old Train ate elsewhere first, and after eating and drinking their fill, they entered the city.
The people of Pillow City began sleeping at the Start of Summer and slept until the Beginning of Spring the next year. Though Li Banfeng had risen in rank, he still felt somewhat drowsy upon entering the city.
Old Train deeply disliked Pillow City. "Tell me, aren't the people here utterly lacking in ambition? A lifetime only has so much time,
and they sleep it all away!"
"Sleeping it away isn't necessarily a bad thing. You can still live your days in dreams." Li Banfeng saw a man sleeping face-down on the ground and went over to help him onto a recliner nearby.
"I heard that the people of Pillow City have continuous dreams. Today's dream connects to yesterday's, this year's dream connects to last year's. Turn it around and think about it—really, they aren't much different from us."
"How could they be no different? They can't even leave this tiny patch of land their entire lives." Train Grandpa spotted a clock shop by the roadside, where clocks of all sizes had already stopped.
Old Train entered the shop, wound all the clocks, and set them to the right time. "Tell me, what use do people in this place have for clocks? They simply—
"Brother, do you sense danger?"
Old Train froze. He went to the back courtyard of the clock shop, leaped onto the wall, and looked into the distance.
After watching for a moment, Old Train jumped down and looked Li Banfeng up and down. "What kind of sense does this make? My soul isn't whole, and I haven't practiced much in the art of Auspiciousness and Avoiding Calamity, but
