Background / History

Kiana attends St. Freya Academy, where she quickly befriends the newly enrolled Sheng Jiu while insisting that he not “fight” her for Yae Sakura. Her early days at the academy are marked by constant bickering with Sheng Jiu and Bronya, as well as her possessiveness toward Yae Sakura. 2 3

Before joining St. Freya, Kiana escaped the Third Honkai outbreak at Senba Academy alongside Mei and Bronya. Returning to the ruined school later deeply affects her, particularly after she and Sheng Jiu encounter the remains of its victims. 24 25

During a virtual-history exercise, Kiana enters the Oath of Judas database and meets a virtual personality of Kallen Kaslana. Convinced that Kallen deserves to be saved regardless of her being data, Kiana helps rescue her from execution and fights beside her against Honkai Beasts. After Kallen is fatally wounded, Kiana promises to pass along her message to Yae Sakura. 9 13

The experience leaves Kiana withdrawn for several days. With Sheng Jiu’s support, she begins to move forward, makes a wish for world peace during a meteor shower, and subsequently passes her make-up examination to become a B-rank Valkyrie. 14

Kiana later participates in operations in Changkong City, Hokkaido, Manila, and the planned Nine Nether expedition. Her missions repeatedly place her alongside Sheng Jiu, Yae Sakura, Bronya, and the Far East Branch’s Valkyries. 15 17 32 38 47

Kiana is a white-haired girl with bright blue eyes. Her hair is commonly worn in two thick braids, including when she disguises herself in wartime light armor. 9 24

Personality

Kiana is impulsive, outspoken, and fiercely competitive. She readily challenges Sheng Jiu, argues with Bronya, and reacts badly to being underestimated or called an idiot. Her confidence is especially strong in practical combat, even when her academic performance is poor. 3 6 7

She is also deeply compassionate. Kiana immediately tries to protect Kallen from Schicksal enforcers, refuses to abandon her after learning she is only a virtual personality, and is moved by Kallen’s loneliness and sacrifice. In Manila, she comforts an injured survivor and calls the girl her “little sister.” 9 14 39

Kiana is protective of her companions, particularly Sheng Jiu. She worries when he is injured, visits and feeds him during his hospitalization, carries him back after the Senba Academy operation, and forcibly stops him from using more Amplifier injections in Manila. 17 19 31 43

Kiana is a capable combatant whose preferred weapons are dual pistols, though she also fights effectively with kicks, evasive maneuvers, and improvised melee attacks.
