Background & History

Ji Yaoyue discovered the orphaned nine-year-old Chen Xuan while travelling and brought him to the Vast Sword Sect, accepting him as a disciple of Jade Maiden Peak. Twenty years later, she returned from another journey with the young Ji Wushuang, named him, accepted him as her final disciple, and doted on him heavily. 1

After Chen Xuan's dantian shattered, Ji Yaoyue demanded that he surrender the Vast Sword Sect Saint Son position to Ji Wushuang. She repeatedly pressured him for resources to support Wushuang's cultivation and the Heaven Piercing Golden Peak's fortune, including attempting to seize Chen Xuan's Coiling Dragon Ring. 1 19 21

Her treatment of Chen Xuan grew openly hostile.
