Double Gate, Zombie Control Lineage
Lu Feng listened intently and gained a certain understanding of the "Double Gate" Wu Ying had mentioned. He then asked further, "The 'Soul Zombie' you spoke of earlier—that is one of Double Gate's methods?"
"No, no, no," Wu Ying corrected with a wave of his hand. "Refining Soul Zombies is merely one of the many branches within Double Gate, a wicked and sinister craft."
"Over these years, Double Gate has fared little better than our Thief Sect. Its former glory has long faded, and it has splintered into countless branches."
"Our Thief Sect split into branches such as Bottle Spirit, Cloud Peering, Spirit Brushing, and more. Double Gate likewise has lineages like Zombie Control, Corpse Gu, Origin-Sealing, and so on."
"Methods like refining Soul Zombies are what the Zombie Control Lineage excels at most. Their conduct has always been cold-blooded and vicious, dealing with corpses all year round."
Listening nearby, Ning Xiang could not help but curiously interject, "Then which lineage are you from?"
Wu Ying gave a smug chuckle, pride in his voice. "Your brother here is a descendant of Mad Thief, the true orthodox lineage of the Thief Sect! I'm not comparable to those disciples from splintered branches."
Ning Xiang said delightedly, "Then you must be very powerful, right? Can you help save my brothers and sisters?"
Wu Ying smiled awkwardly, looking somewhat ashamed. "Powerful would be overstating it. How should I put it? The Thief Sect is gone now, so the avenues available for your brother here to learn its arts have been limited. Over the years, I've learned quite a bit from all sorts of sects and schools, so I do have some overall ability. But if you pick any one skill out on its own, I'm afraid I fall short
