• Lu Cang told Yuna that his talent was Proficiency Mastery, and Yuna revealed her High-Tier Resonance talent and asked him to keep it secret.
• Yuna visited Lu Cang regularly, shared her knowledge as they studied, and proposed a dangerous change to his Demonic Tide ritual, which he told her not to attempt.
• Lu Cang showed Yuna a captured Tier 6 Continent-Sinking Tier monster's soul inside a Soul Lantern.

After the earth-shaking battle near the Valley of Deep Fall, Lu Cang learned that a White Tower scholar named Mu believed him to be the heir to the Death Holy Church. Mu revealed the Church’s hidden reach and urged Lu Cang to lead it, leaving Lu Cang to consider his answer as danger gathered around Knoroya.

• Lu Cang escorted Yuna back to the White Tower, then encountered Mu, who knelt and pledged loyalty to him.
• A violent quake shook Knoroya as Izpalut unleashed a controlled burst of Essence Stripping near the Valley of Deep Fall.
• Mu identified Lu Cang as the likely heir to the Death Holy Church because of his powerful favor of death and his potential to bring about the White Descent.
• Lu Cang brought Mu to Iz’s palace and questioned him about the Church and the disturbance at the Valley of Deep Fall.

• Lu Cang watched Xuzhou defeat a Warrior, then challenged him and killed him instantly in repeated duels with his Warrior techniques.
• Lu Cang explained that he had learned how to carry attacks through a Void Creature’s body and strike its higher-dimensional form.

Lu Cang defeated Leng Qingying and suggested she spar with Xuzhou so she could learn from a more evenly matched opponent. Leng Qingying beat Xuzhou repeatedly, but Lu Cang defeated her again, leaving her humiliated and determined to play ranked matches on her own.

• Leng Qingying tried to ambush Lu Cang, but he destroyed her phantoms, overwhelmed her speed, and defeated her Killing Technique with his hardened body before striking her down.
• Lu Cang told Leng Qingying that repeated losses would not help her improve and introduced his friend Xuzhou as a sparring partner.

• Iz and the others returned to Knoroya, and Chicheng recounted how Luluwei discovered the Death Church bishop hiding high above the Valley of Deep Fall and how Iz’s magic helped defeat him.
• Kumiloni confirmed that the bishop had sacrificed himself and that Iz had destroyed the area, while Lu Cang concealed that Death Church remnants had asked him to become their leader.
• Lu Cang encouraged Luluwei to believe she could grow stronger, and she later regained her confidence by defeating Leng Qingying in the Battle Arena.

• Mu showed Lu Cang the Death Church treasury, where Lu Cang found secret scrolls, spells, and a sealed dagger containing an evil spirit and trapped souls.
• Lu Cang pulled the souls out of the dagger, took the weapon, and rewarded Mu with two souls before ordering him to keep the church quiet and under control.
• After Mu left, Lu Cang and Iz discussed his performance, and Lu Cang continued studying Death Spells and managing the church from the White Tower.
• Lu Cang tested the Soul-Devouring Dagger on black ants and confirmed that he could extract their souls and absorb them with Soul Dominator.

On December 10, Lu Cang traveled with Iz and Kumiloni toward the former Death Church headquarters, rescuing a town from a Tier 5 Demonic Tide before reaching the hidden outpost.

• Lu Cang secretly copied several grimoires in the Church of Light’s Forbidden Hall, including a heavenly creature summoning spell, and returned the books without disturbing the wards.
• Izpalut recognized the copied grimoires, praised Lu Cang for obtaining them, and offered to help him break into the Dark Church’s Forbidden Hall someday.
• Lu Cang studied more than ten powerful Light Magic spells with Izpalut, including the forbidden technique Heavenly Punishment Purge.

• Kumiloni told Lu Cang that the Life Church had been unable to break the ritual ward protecting the cavern's depths, and Lu Cang decided to try after sensing a dangerous black egg beyond it.
• Kumiloni performed the Promotion Ritual, and Lu Cang offered souls and corpses to advance to level three as a Death Priest.
• Lu Cang gained the Godly talent Undead Rebirth and demonstrated it by turning slain black ants into stronger, varied Special Species undead.
• Iz reflected on the undead ability and gained new inspiration for his theories about life, death, and souls.

Lu Cang extracted the soul from the sealed Source of Calamity, sacrificed ten thousand souls, and raised the creature as an undead under his control. After discovering it could summon disasters and form dungeons, Lu Cang and Iz agreed to use its powers carefully, while Kumiloni warned them not to let it cause disasters indiscriminately.

• Lu Cang opened the seal and used his dagger and Soul Dominator to pull the soul from the egg-like creature.
• Lu Cang sacrificed ten thousand souls in the ritual, and a lifeless Source of Calamity emerged from the shattered shell.
• Lu Cang used the ritual again to raise the creature as an undead, then sent it out of the cave as the Demonic Tide gathered and dungeons began forming.
• Lu Cang discovered that the creature could cause natural disasters, earthly disasters, and Demonic Tides, and stopped it from controlling the surrounding weather and ground.

As they left, Iz sensed a massive, organized monster invasion in Ruijia and warned that the nation would be destroyed if no one intervened.

• Lu Cang released the Source of Calamity on a deserted plain, where it drew in the Demonic Tide and caused dungeons and Demonic Beasts to appear before the group.
• Iz and Lu Cang performed rituals to summon high-tier Demonic Beasts, and Iz enclosed them in a vast Flame Cover while Lu Cang killed thirteen King-tier beasts and turned them into undead.
• The Source of Calamity formed a sixth-tier dungeon, which Iz entered and quickly cleared before the group left as it crumbled.

• Lu Cang learned from Kumiloni that churches in Ruijia would receive only limited regional support if their treasures were stolen.
• Leng Qingying collected books and valuable items from the Light, Luck, Cold, and Peace churches, while the group later gathered their stolen goods at the inn.

• Lu Cang reassured Kumiloni that he had firm limits, continued deciphering Rijia's forbidden books with Yuna, and learned two of the War God's Secrets.
• The Month of Forgetting began, bringing dense fog, vanishing records, widespread forgetfulness, and harmless dream wraiths to Knoroya.
