Wu Man raised both hands high in a gesture of praise for the great cauldron. The soup inside flared with golden light, and everyone stared at the glow as it surged out of the cauldron. They all tilted their heads back, watching as it spiraled through the air like a soaring dragon, illuminating the entire City of All Beings.

The girl gripped her mother's hand tightly. The cozy warmth suddenly made her feel indescribably relaxed, as if a burden weighing a thousand pounds had been lifted from her shoulders. Her body no longer felt as lifeless and weak as before.
