Xu Yi and Xue Zihan fought their way through the Martial Refining Realm as Xu Yi pursued the Purple-robed Warrior and the Boundary Tokens. At the divine hall, Xu Yi survived a confrontation with Zhou Daogan and the six Old Ancestors, then bargained over the tokens while they maneuvered toward a fight for them.

• Xu Yi turned the ambush against five disciples, then joined Xue Zihan at the fake Third Prince’s gathering and provoked the crowd into attacking him so he could absorb their True Fiend Qi.
• Xu Yi unleashed two True Fiend Qi dragons, killed the fake Third Prince and many cultivators, then escaped with Xue Zihan to a palace where they found the Boundary Tablets.
• Xu Yi faced Zhou Daogan, Zhan Shence, and Zhou Shirong over the tablets, killed Zhan Shence, and battled Zhou Daogan while Xue Zihan fought Zhou Shirong.
• Xu Yi endured Zhou Daogan’s attacks and later clashed with Xue Muhua, while the arrival of Fan Mo Ke and the six Old Ancestors left him trapped in the hall with Xue Zihan protected inside the Cloud Prisoner Formation.
• Xu Yi revealed a Boundary Tablet and threatened to destroy it, forcing the six Old Ancestors to negotiate, and he swore them to Heart Oaths and chose Mu Shentong’s Leaking Pill and Taiyi Divine Wood as payment.
• Zhou Daogan swept away the realm token Xu Yi offered Mu Shentong, setting the Old Ancestors against one another while they tried to avoid breaking their oaths.
• Xu Yi sought more medicine and Taiyi Divine Wood before risking a fight against Zhou Daogan, but Mu Shentong refused and offered Demon Corpses instead.

Xu Yi and the Ancestors fought the Fierce Rhinoceros as the Major Yin Tribulation struck, scattering the survivors and leaving Xu Yi near death. After recovering, Xu Yi arranged his affairs before seeking a way to strengthen himself and learn where to find the Dark Mountain.

• Xu Yi outmaneuvered Mu Shentong over the Boundary Token, while Zhou Daogan fought the Ancestors and offered his own Boundary Token to Yao Junchi for protection.
• The Fierce Rhinoceros arrived at the divine hall, shattered the Cloud Prisoner Formation, and forced Xu Yi and the Six Ancestors into a desperate battle.
• Xu Yi repeatedly attacked the Fierce Rhinoceros, but the Nine Heavens Yin Calamity struck through the hall and swept away Xue Zihan, the boundary tablet, and the provisions.
• The tribulation charred Xu Yi and reduced Zhou Daogan to ashes, while the Fierce Rhinoceros escaped beneath the sea and the old ghost possessed Jiang Hentian’s Crystal Jade Skeleton.
• Auspicious Duck found Xu Yi’s body and gave him a Golden Blood Drop, allowing Xu Yi’s surviving yin soul to recover enough for him to return to the capital.

• Xu Yi absorbed the Black Tiger Army’s True Qi, reached peak Liquid Condensation, and learned that Xia Zimo might be traveling with the Heavenly Buddha Kingdom’s tribute delegation.
• Xu Yi rescued Xiong Kui and his fellow disciples, then fought his way into the Third Prince’s Mansion and used the prince’s help to reach the embassy.
• Xu Yi confronted Jiuru and Beichen, found Xia Zimo, and gave her back her Sumeru Ring, whose booklet stirred a painful memory.
• Xu Yi learned that Jiuru had planted fabricated memories in Xia Zimo, then reclaimed the Yin Extremity Bead after it transformed into Yin Dragon Marrow at Jade Dai Lake.

• Xu Yi found Old Cangtou’s letter and token, learned of the Imperial Tomb, and began studying the Soul Splitting Art to strengthen himself.
• Xu Yi went to the palace with Lu Shanren for the Emperor’s birthday rites, where Chen Guanhai’s challenge led to a literary contest between Great Yue’s scholars and the Heir of Prince Xiang.
• The Heir of Prince Xiang defeated the Top Scholar in a contest of couplets, but Xu Yi bested him with riddles and a legal case, prompting the Heir to concede and leave.
• Xu Yi suspected Jiuru and the Naiman envoy were plotting against him, then recognized Xia Zimo among the Heavenly Buddha Kingdom’s dancers when she appeared before the Emperor.
• Ji Lie asked the Emperor to grant Xia Zimo to him, but Xu Yi declared that Guanyin Bi was his closest kin and demanded the right to take her away.
• Xu Yi challenged Ji Lie to exchange punches without dodging or using defensive treasures, and Ji Lie accepted as the court watched.
• Ji Lie struck Xu Yi with Kuiyuan Strength and Water Gang Sha, leaving him bloodied, but Xu Yi survived, seized the Third Prince’s hand, and rose after swallowing pills.
