Xu Yi fought through Great Yue’s court to take Xia Zimo away, but the Ghost Master’s schemes led to her death and Xu Yi’s sorrowful intent breaking. He then turned against the Son of Heaven while Dong Xuanji and the Golden Talisman Army tried to stop him.

• Xu Yi defeated Ji Lie’s golden defense, exposed the Ghost Master’s possession of Beichen and Marquis Anqing, and rejected Dong Xuanji’s demand for the Boundary Stele.
• Xu Yi seized Ji Lie to secure Xia Zimo’s escape, then fought Xi Xuanji and killed him with the Coral Horn and Soul Scattering Pearls.
• Xu Yi fought through the court’s attackers, wounded Ji Lie, and reached Xia Zimo, but the Ghost Master used Beichen and Jiuru to hold her hostage.
• Xu Yi tricked the Ghost Master out of Beichen, but Beichen’s sword pierced Xia Zimo when she shielded Xu Yi, and she died after her childhood memories returned.

• Xu Yi tried to protect Xia Zimo’s corpse while pressing the Son of Heaven, and Dong Xuanji redirected the Golden Armored Giant God against him.

Xu Yi survived the destruction of the Golden Armored Giant God and fought the Ghost Master and Wang Xuanji, but the battle left him apparently dead in the Dragon River. Yan Zi found his demon corpse and pressed Auspicious Duck to divine where his soul had gone.

• Xu Yi destroyed the Golden Armored Giant God, demanded the title King of Yue, and exposed Ancestor Yuan as the Ghost Master.
• Dong Xuanji killed the Son of Heaven and summoned Wang Xuanji, who offered Xu Yi discipleship while trying to claim Xia Zimo’s corpse.
• The Ghost Master unleashed Ironback Yin Extremity Insects and his Jade Bone Skeleton, but Xu Yi endured their attacks and forced the Ghost Master to flee.
• Xu Yi seized the Jade Bone Skeleton, recovered with Precious Medicines, and watched Wang Xuanji reveal the Nine Heavens True Dragon Sword beneath the National Monument.
• Xu Yi completed his demonic transformation, crushed the Nine Heavens True Dragon Sword, killed Wang Xuanji and Dong Xuanji, and fled as Calamity Clouds gathered.
• A Stellar Tunnel opened for Xia Zimo and tore Xu Yi apart before casting him into the Dragon River, while Yan Zi escaped the Ghost Master and Li Xiuluo pursued him.
• Yan Zi disguised herself and traveled west with Auspicious Duck, eventually finding Xu Yi’s Sumeru Ring and a charred Demon Corpse in the river.

After surviving near death, Xu Yi returned to the capital to restore his strength and prepare to save his imprisoned associates. While forging the Soul-Summoning Banner, he endured an Yin Tribulation, and the royal court began investigating the event as Ji Lie’s enthronement approached.

• Auspicious Duck and Yan Zi brought Xu Yi to a concealed cavern, where Ruiya used the Wedding Dress Divine Art and Precious Medicines to revive him.
• Xu Yi discovered his Yin Souls and meridians were badly damaged, then escaped the cave and made his way to the Third Prince in the capital.
• Xu Yi and the Third Prince sought Cao Er’s knowledge of Life Source Power, and Xu Yi secured Divine Essence Pills and Nine Yin Liquid through Marquis Anqing.
• Xu Yi replenished some of his strength with Divine Essence Pills and began treating his damaged Yin Soul with Nine Yin Pills and Nine Yin Liquid.
• Marquis Anqing told Xu Yi that Yuan Qinghua and the others faced execution during Ji Lie’s enthronement, and Xu Yi resolved to stop it.
• Xu Yi forged the Soul-Summoning Banner from the Wailing Stick and Blood River Flag, but the Ghost Master arrived and fought him over its power.
• An Yin Tribulation struck during the forging, and Li Xiuluo seized the Ghost Master’s Yin Body before fleeing as Xu Yi survived the thunder.
• Marquis Anqing’s attendants helped Xu Yi recover, while Lord Meng questioned Steward Sun about the Yin Tribulation and learned that Marquis Anqing had visited Xu Yi.

Xu Yi reclaimed control of Great Yue, settled old debts, and prepared to leave the realm. He crossed the Starry Sky Gate into a more powerful world, where a poisoned token and pursuers immediately drew him into new trouble.

• Steward Sun told Lord Meng that Li Xiuluo had diverted the Yin Tribulation from Xu Yi and the Soul-Summoning Banner, and Lord Meng killed Sun to keep the Marquis Anqing case secret.
• News and rumors spread about Xu Yi and Beichen as the Heavenly Buddha Kingdom attacked Mengxia Pass, but Beichen walked out alone and the Arhat Army retreated.
• At Ji Lie’s enthronement gathering, Xu Yi killed Dao Yan and Ji Lie with the Soul-Summoning Banner, then made several Ancestors swallow Life-Death Gu and bargained with Huang Xuanji over Dark Mountain and its crossing restrictions.
• Xu Yi reunited with Yuan Qinghua, Marquis Anqing, Master Zhou, Lu Shanren, and his other old acquaintances, then left them behind and arranged care for his friends and Old Cangtou’s descendants.
• After restoring his Yin Soul and choosing six treasures to carry, Xu Yi buried Li Xiuluo and A Luo, then met Jiang Hentian’s old ghost and the Fierce Rhinoceros at the Immortal Sea.
