Inside the pyramid.
The Third and his two clones stood at three points, green chakra streaming from their hands and meeting in midair to form a green pyramid.
At that moment.
The earth dragon spat lava.
The water dragon spat lightning balls.
The wind dragon behind them supplied speed.
White Fang braced himself for a formidable enemy.
Lightning began surging all over his body.
Infused with chakra, the white short blade in his hand began to ring, as though quivering with excitement.
"As expected of the Third!"
White Fang sighed softly, then shot forward in a flash, lightning crackling around his body.
In the shinobi world, no one could match his speed without Space-Time Ninjutsu, not even the successive Kage of Kumogakure.
His blade had earned him the title of the Shinobi World's Greatest Swordsman, and the key lay in the nature transformation of lightning release chakra.
Unlike him, however, the Raikage of Kumogakure did not focus primarily on speed. They placed greater emphasis on physical toughness and the power of Lightning Release. Speed was merely a side benefit of practicing it.
White Fang pursued speed alone.
As he shot forward, he also dodged the dragon projectiles.
But there were too many, and the Third had used a sealing tome to erect a barrier around the area. There was nowhere to dodge.
He could neither break through nor evade them. With no other choice, he had to take them head-on.
Sword Qi formed from lightning release chakra collided with ninjutsu of four different elements, and explosions thundered within the barrier.
The Third's dragons kept spewing attacks. The Shinobi World Professor's chakra reserves were not to be underestimated, while White Fang's would not hold out for long...
Thanks to the Hatake Clan's constitution, their bodies were compatible with any kekkei genkai, and the chakra they cultivated was purer. In exchange, however, their chakra reserves were very small.
White Fang's swordsmanship also consumed enormous amounts of chakra. Every slash he unleashed now was no weaker than an ordinary S-rank Ninjutsu.
Had this been an assassination, even if he failed to kill the Third, he could have left him half-dead.
But now he was fighting the Third when his opponent was prepared.
And inside a barrier that put him at a disadvantage, no less.
Just then.
Hongsi's arrogant voice rang out from outside the barrier, and the Third's Fire Style veered out of control, hurtling toward its boundary.
The lava balls and water-lightning balls had been both dense and immensely powerful, but with the Fire Style out of control, the earth dragon could only fire Earth Dragon Bullets.
Without the lava balls, the pressure on White Fang instantly eased. He only needed to avoid the water-lightning attacks. The Earth Dragon Bullets posed no threat at all; he could slice them apart effortlessly.
Seeing this, the Third cast Fire Style again, but it still refused to obey him.
He knew that without Fire Style, his combination ninjutsu could not hurt White Fang. The Sealing Jutsu would only drain his chakra, since killing White Fang here was now impossible without Fire Style.
In the end, he could only dismiss the barrier and stop feeding chakra into the dragons beside him.
As the barrier vanished, the Shishō Squad, who had remained nearby, hurried over to shield the Third.
White Fang did not launch another attack either. Instead, he focused on recovering his chakra.
He could not inflict any meaningful damage on the Third. Not only did his opponent have three Anbu guards whose strength rivaled Elite Jonin, but even without them, White Fang would struggle to defeat him.
For now, holding the Third back was enough!
Both sides understood what the other was thinking. As they quietly recovered their chakra, they turned toward the other battlefield together.
At that moment.
Uchiha Red Four shouted with tremendous swagger.
Not only the Third's Fire Style from moments earlier, but also the fires he himself had set came rushing toward him.
However, the Third dispelled his own ninjutsu, while the distant flames were too far away to arrive in time.
The three Root Jonin were already right in front of him.
Hongsi flicked his head disdainfully. Did he need to draw flames toward himself?
He had only done that to help White Fang.
Now, with one hand held behind his back, he thrust the other forward. Flames that blotted out the sky ignited out of thin air. The three Jonin who had closed in had nowhere to flee and were instantly engulfed.
They were only flames. Why would he need to use his mouth?
Spitting flames from his mouth was an insult his original self had saddled him with!
He had thought all three would die, but to his surprise, a bare-chested shinobi managed to escape.
Yet when that man landed beside Danzo, he only managed to say, "His Fire Style is so powerful."
Then he passed out.
Danzo's mouth twitched, and his heart bled. Two more had died, and whether the survivor would ever be fit for duty again was uncertain.
This was too much!
He had brought twenty-nine men. Three had gone after the man before him earlier, six had been cut down by White Fang, and now another two were dead and one unconscious.
Twelve were gone.
Only seventeen remained beside him.
Meanwhile, his old friend had not lost a single subordinate. He had merely expended some chakra himself.
The situation was looking rather grim.
Where had this Uchiha before him come from?
Why was he so powerful, and why had he chosen to oppose him?
Danzo was furious and wanted to kill him, but the man was too strong. If he sent Root against him, he feared losing every shinobi he had spent so long training.
Although many other shinobi had not come, those he had brought this time were all elites!
Danzo was frustrated, but Hongsi was not.
"A Jonin? A mere Jonin actually survived my Fire Style?"
Displeasure crossed his face. "Danzo, I will kill you today. Until you're dead, I, Uchiha Red Four, will know no satisfaction."
"Today, whoever stops me from killing Danzo will have their entire clan wiped out."
As he spoke, he looked at the Hokage. "Third, if you dare interfere, I guarantee your entire village will regret it."
Then he pointed his right hand toward the sky and declared loudly, "Today, I, Uchiha Red Four, shall slay my mighty foe. This is heaven's will! From this moment on, I am the god of fire!"
As his words fell.
A flame rose from his index finger. Gradually, it grew larger and larger, transforming in moments into an enormous fire dragon.
This one was at least twice the size of Ling Tian's.
The fire dragon stretched over two thousand zhang long, its body's contours sharply defined and every scale vividly lifelike.
The sky-blotting fire dragon bared its fangs and claws, raised its head toward the heavens, and let out a roar that echoed throughout the village.
From the instant the fire dragon appeared, the shinobi present were stunned senseless. When its roar rang out, they all made the same movement, clapping their hands over their ears.
They shuddered as they stared at the fire dragon blotting out the sky.
If even a single whisker fell and they failed to dodge, whether they could survive was doubtful.
Even the Third sucked in a sharp breath.
This Fire Style was simply too powerful.
He could not help wondering whether Danzo had any way to survive.
Or whether he himself was a match for this man.
Fourth Baby only possessed Kage Level strength. He had not yet reached Super Kage.
But his fire spirit body was stronger than Ling Tian's.
Quite apart from anything else, Ling Tian had no fire-nature chakra in his body, whereas Uchiha Daoyu did.
Someone else wielding that power could never match its true owner. Hongsi's soul had itself been manifested from the fire spirit body.
Thus, although he might appear immensely powerful, he had not reached the level of Super Kage.
But the Third was likewise only at Kage Level.
As for Danzo, it was doubtful whether he had even reached Kage Level yet.
PS: Here is the fourth update. Don't mind the delay. There will still be four updates tomorrow, with one or two at ten in the morning.
