History
Conflict with the Richest Group
Big Mom sends Perospero and other family members after the Golden Emperor, seeking to bring him under her control 101. The conflict deepens when the Richest Group attacks Poppy Island and kills the Charming Woman, an underworld figure allied with the Big Mom Pirates. Katakuri subsequently fights the Golden Emperor there 200 205 208.
Big Mom threatens the Richest Group, prompting the Golden Emperor and his executives to attack during her annual tea party. Their assault devastates Cake City, and reports say Big Mom is severely injured 223 225 232. Further clashes follow. The Richest Group's repeated attacks on Whole Cake Island eventually leave both Big Mom and the Beasts Pirates reluctant to provoke it again 302.
Four Emperors and the fall of Totto Land
A newspaper names the Big Mom Pirates, Explosion Pirates, Beasts Pirates, and Red-Haired Pirates the Four Emperors. Big Mom welcomes the title, but Katakuri recognizes that it will draw challengers; the designation is part of a World Government and Marine plan to weaken pirate forces 519 520.
The Golden Emperor later attacks Cake Island while Katakuri and several other powerful family members are away. Cake Castle is destroyed, Perospero and others are killed, and Big Mom is defeated and captured 604 605. News of Totto Land's collapse spreads worldwide. Katakuri organizes the survivors to search for missing family members and plans revenge against the Richest Group 608.
Surviving members
Katakuri and his siblings seek an alliance with Whitebeard against their common enemy, the Richest Group 722. The surviving Big Mom Pirates then fight alongside the Whitebeard Pirates against Blackbeard's crew. Their alliance remains active when Katakuri and Cracker confront Richest Group members at Gold City 723 725 810.
