Inside the classroom of Class 2-B at Teitan High School.

Kudo Shinichi was yawning hazily when Nakado at the side grinned and spoke, "Kudo, how come you look so listless? Could it be that you were missing someone too much last night, so you couldn't sleep at all?"

"Please... As if, go away!" Kudo Shinichi waved his hand impatiently.

Just as Nakado was about to say something else, Shu Yunwen spoke up beside Kudo Shinichi, "Student Nakado, Student Kudo was involved in a murder case last night, and then had to rush through his homework after getting home, so he definitely went to sleep very late. Therefore, please don't disturb Student Kudo, alright?"

Actually, Shu Yunwen was only slightly better off than Kudo Shinichi right now.

"I found it! Found it! There's news about a murder incident in this newspaper of mine. Hachiryu Bank General Manager Yamazaki Akiji was murdered, and the culprit was his friend Iwata... Um, it doesn't seem to mention Student Shu in here at all." Someone found the news in the newspaper and read through it, but failed to find Shu Yunwen's name. "Shu-san, didn't any reporters interview you? After all, you cracked a major case like a murder..."

Shu Yunwen smiled and said, "Nope! Personally speaking, I don't want to get in the newspapers or on TV and become some sort of public figure, so I had the police help me keep it confidential and announce to the outside world that this case was cracked by the police."

"So that's how it is..." A group of people suddenly understood.

Beside him, a yawning Kudo Shinichi shot Shu Yunwen a deadpan glare-

Was this guy subtly telling him that he, Kudo Shinichi, was a fellow who loved to show off and put on airs?

"Ran, Ran, your hubby got outshined by that middle-aged uncle! Tell me, tell me, is he acting so lifeless because he couldn't measure up to Shu Yunwen?" Sonoko spoke as she poked Ran.

Normally, Ran would have already nervously refuted things like "he's not my hubby," but right now, Ran was just in a daze.

"Ran? What's wrong with you? What are you thinking about?" Sonoko reached out and waved her hand in front of Ran's eyes.

Ran only then came back to her senses. "I'm really sorry, Sonoko-chan, I didn't catch that just now..."

"Hey, hey, hey! What are you thinking about, are you thinking about your hubby?" Sonoko asked with a teasing expression.

"No, it's not like that!" Ran shook her head, then added in a quiet voice, "Sonoko, I'll tell you in secret, you mustn't tell anyone else..."

A few seconds later.

"Nani?! You're going on a date with Shinichi at Tropical Land today after school?!" Sonoko stood up abruptly, gripping her fists together with a look that screamed "Burn, my little cosmos."

"Ah? Sonoko, keep your voice down!" Ran was dying of embarrassment from shame.

She had said it needed to be kept secret, only for this wretch to shout it out loud. Having a friend like this was simply exasperating.

Director, can this take be cut and redone?

All around, a crowd of boys and girls had already started joining in on the teasing.

"Wow! Student Kudo and Student Mori are going on a date?"

"How truly envious!"

"I think they'll probably get married right after graduating high school!"

As the group discussed it, Shu Yunwen let out a "hehe" and muttered inwardly.

Even if these two got married after graduating high school, that was still ages away; from what Shu Yunwen knew, Mori Ran spent over twenty years just in her second year of high school...

Shu Yunwen continued, "Actually, getting married in high school isn't a big deal either. Remember to have a baby soon!"

"..." Kudo Shinichi had a tic formed of crossed veins hanging over his head as he vigorously clawed at his hair and slapped a book down over his face.

After school, Suzuki Sonoko unusually boarded her family's luxury car and left the school gates.

As soon as Kudo Shinichi and Mori Ran left, Shu Yunwen was just getting ready to head home to prepare when he saw Tsukamoto Kazumi appear before him once again. "Yunwen-san, sorry to bother you, but might I ask if you have time today?"

Tsukamoto Kazumi spoke with a smile, "A friend of my mother's gave me two tickets to Tropical Land. If Yunwen-san has the time, would you please accompany me there to have some fun..."

Shu Yunwen's voice paused for a fraction as he looked at Tsukamoto Kazumi, feeling that this rhythm wasn't quite right.

"...Kazumi-san, is this... a date?" Shu Yunwen asked.

Tsukamoto Kazumi said, "If, if Yunwen-san thinks of it that way, that's correct."
