Matsushita Heisaburo was a good driver. He drove fast and steadily, and soon they arrived beneath Tokyo Tower.
Shu Yunwen rolled down the window and glanced outside. He quickly spotted Conan and the others in the sparse crowd. The four little brats huddled together were pretty easy to find.
After Matsushita Heisaburo pulled up beside the four kids, Shu Yunwen waved and feigned surprise. "Hey! Genta! What are you four doing here?"
Genta, Conan, Ayumi, and Mitsuhiko all turned around at once. "Brother Yunwen?"
Genta looked surprised. "Brother Yunwen, what are you doing here? Did you come to have fun too?"
"Ha, I had something to do nearby, so I happened to pass by." Shu Yunwen casually made up a lie. "What about you? Weren't you supposed to go to the Beika Art Museum? Why did you come all the way to Tokyo Tower? Don't you have to go home for lunch?"
Ayumi said cutely, "My mom won't be home for lunch today. She gave me money to buy something to eat."
"Same here," Mitsuhiko chimed in.
Genta spoke up. "My mom gave me lunch money too. And, Brother Yunwen, we came here today to look for treasure! The Junior Detective League found a treasure map in front of the art museum. Mitsuhiko said the drawing on this paper must lead to a huge treasure!"
As he spoke, Genta waved the treasure map in his hand.
"Heh..." Conan gave a dry laugh from the side, wearing his usual dead-fish eyes.
The Junior Detective League?
Hearing that name brought Shu Yunwen back to his senses. Oh, right! That means it's about time for the Junior Detective League to be formed.
Keeping his expression neutral, Shu Yunwen reached through the window and snatched the treasure map from Genta. "What kind of treasure map is this? Let me have a look!"
"Hey, hey, hey! Brother Yunwen, how can you steal our treasure map? That's so mean!" Kojima Genta protested. Ayumi and Mitsuhiko clenched their fists too, looking furious.
Inside the car, Shu Yunwen pretended to fumble and let the paper drop onto his foot. At the same time, he bent down, took out a Polaroid camera, and snapped a picture of the drawing. Then he picked up the paper and handed it out the window with an annoyed look. "All right, all right! You're so noisy! Here's your treasure map. Take it back! And anyway, it obviously looks like something a kid scribbled at random. How could it possibly be a treasure map?"
Genta quickly took the paper back. "Darn it! It's obviously a treasure map! You're an adult, and you're bullying kids like this? That's so rude!"
"I liked you so much, and you look down on us!" Ayumi was still unhappy.
Shu Yunwen rolled his eyes and was about to make a few more jokes before leaving when he suddenly sensed someone watching them. He looked up and locked eyes with several men in black suits. One of the three had East Asian features, while the other two looked foreign. They all had fierce expressions.
Hmm... Could these guys be members of the Italian Bandit Group?
From what he remembered, those three really had been following Conan and the others around.
Shu Yunwen looked away and narrowed his eyes slightly. He felt that letting Conan and the others continue to be followed by these three was definitely a bad idea. Even though Conan had managed to deal with them in the anime, it still wasn't safe enough!
After thinking it over, Shu Yunwen put on an apologetic expression. "Ha! Fine, it's my fault, okay? You little brats, stop making such a racket. To make it up to you, I'll treat you to lunch. How about that?"
"Really?"
"I want to eat lots and lots of delicious food!"
"I want sushi!"
The kids immediately stopped being angry. Conan gave another dry laugh with his dead-fish eyes, thinking that these kids were so easy to placate. One meal was all it took.
Ah, it really is tough for a high school student like him to hang around with a bunch of little kids.
Shu Yunwen pursed his lips. "All right, get in the car! We'll decide what to eat later."
Once the kids were in the car, they chattered away in the back. Conan, on the other hand, quietly looked around the car with curiosity, then picked up the paper with the treasure location drawn on it and continued studying it.
As the car started moving and the kids carried on chattering, Shu Yunwen regretfully touched his wallet and quietly said to Matsushita Heisaburo, "Find a place nearby that's cheap and tasty."
Matsushita Heisaburo nodded. After thinking for a moment, he remembered a decent family restaurant, turned the key, and started the car.
About five minutes later, Matsushita Heisaburo parked in a lot converted from an open space. The kids got out one by one, and Matsushita Heisaburo led everyone to the restaurant. The kids all wore dead-fish expressions and started grumbling.
Genta: "Brother Yunwen, I don't think a place like this has anything good to eat."
Ayumi: "Even if you're treating us, picking a place like this is way too halfhearted!"
Mitsuhiko: "Oh, well. We should be grateful there's anything to eat. You're only a high school student, after all. You don't have much money."
Conan gave another dry laugh, still wearing his dead-fish eyes.
Shu Yunwen smacked Genta on the head. "Cut the chatter! Do you still want to eat or not? If you do, get inside!" Then he casually pinched Conan's cheek too. "And you, kid. That look on your face is really annoying!"
"All right! We get it!" The kids drooped their heads in disappointment.
The restaurant was called Meiwako Family Restaurant. From outside, its sign and entrance looked rather shabby, but it was packed inside and buzzing with conversation. After they entered, Shu Yunwen glanced around and spotted three girls sitting together and chatting. His expression immediately changed. "Oh no, it's too crowded in here. There aren't even any seats. Maybe we should try somewhere else..."
Before Shu Yunwen could finish, Ayumi pointed at a girl sitting at a long table and shouted, "Look! It's Sister Kazumi! Sister Kazumi and her friends are eating here too!"
Mitsuhiko quickly chimed in, "You're right! Should we go over and say hello to Sister Kazumi?"
"Of course! It's basic manners!" Genta voted in favor.
Conan glanced at Shu Yunwen, puzzled. He couldn't help feeling that Shu Yunwen was trying to avoid Tsukamoto Kazumi. As far as he knew, Tsukamoto Kazumi and Shu Yunwen got along quite well!
While the kids were talking, Tsukamoto Kazumi had already looked over, surprise in her eyes.
Shu Yunwen groaned inwardly.
Damn it! These little troublemakers. He only wanted to leave because he'd seen Tsukamoto Kazumi, all right?
After all, when they'd run into each other outside the Beika Art Museum earlier, he'd said he had other things to take care of. But now, not long afterward, he was here with four kids, going out to eat...

As for the two friends sitting beside Tsukamoto Kazumi?
Well... Shu Yunwen ignored them completely. It wasn't as if he remembered who they were.
