Background / History
Li Yan rescues Longyue during the battle at the Divine Tomb, and she comes to regard him as her master. Although she pursues the Path of Ruthlessness, seeing him brings her an ease and excitement she does not expect 11 319. After the battle, she asks whether he will accept her into his sect if she ascends to White Jade Capital. He agrees, but disappears from the dream soon afterward 101.
Longyue later establishes the Moonlight Sword Sect, while fellow disciple Jin Mie establishes the Heavenly Pivot Hall. The two sects become the centers around which Cloud City grows 41. Records say both women eventually ascend to White Jade Capital as True Immortals 12.
Longyue's later fate is divided across identities. After White Jade Capital's assault devastates the cultivators of her era, she accepts an offer from the Outer God Moon Princess and severs her humanity, becoming Shi Yue, the Moon Eater Commander. The humanity she abandons is reincarnated as Yan Qing Qing, who retains little memory of Longyue 64 186. Li Yan subsequently brings Moonlight and Shi Yue—versions shaped by different timelines—out of a dream into the same reality 283.

Longyue is shown wearing flowing feather robes and wielding the Moonlight Sword 98 332.
- As Shi Yue: She wears black feather robes and a black veil and carries a slender dark-purple sword. Her face is virtually identical to Moonlight's, but her eyes carry hatred and her presence is marked by murderous intent 285.
- Resemblance: Yan Qing Qing looks strikingly like a younger Longyue, prompting Li Yan to investigate their connection 11.
Personality
Longyue is direct and loyal to Li Yan. She proposes settling her friendly dispute with Jin Mie over seniority through a contest of strength, and remains openly respectful toward Li Yan even when his apparent cultivation is far below hers 84 319. She supports decisive action against Ancient God believers and volunteers to build formations to secure the Divine Tomb 101.
Her pursuit of ruthlessness does not erase her attachment to her master. A century after the Divine Tomb battle, she is visibly excited to see him again and takes comfort in having someone she can rely on 84. As Shi Yue, that attachment is entangled with resentment: she fears Li Yan's attempt to change history will erase the person she has become 285.
