Arc 16Shennong and the Plague
Shennong rose to lead the Human Race through medicine, farming, and governance, while Daoist Randeng attained Nirvana and defeated Daoist Duobao. As Shennong’s path to enlightenment stalled, a deadly plague spread across the East Sea Coast, and the Demon Race and Witch Clan conspired to exploit it.
- Qingyuan caught and imprisoned the Wind Great Dao Demon God with Hongjun’s help, then wagered with the Saints on which lineage would aid Shennong’s Dao realization.
- Shennong developed medicine and agriculture, while Fuxi introduced him to Daoist Randeng and the Interception Sect disciples failed to win him over.
- Daoist Randeng repented for his past treatment of the Interception Sect, survived their attacks through Nirvana, and defeated Daoist Duobao in Fuxi’s River Diagram and Luo Book.
- Hongjun recruited Yang Mei and the Three Pure Ones into a plan to join forces against Great Love Heavenly Venerate, while Duobao withdrew after Tongtian refused to forgive him.
- Shennong advanced the Human Race through medical hubs, farming, trade, and civic reforms, then succeeded Fuxi as Co-Lord, but his sacrifice brought no sign of enlightenment.
- After Chun Jing reported a deadly epidemic and was dismissed by other physicians, Daoist Randeng brought the warning to Shennong, who led an investigation.
- Qingyuan identified Nine Refinements Poison Venerate as the plague’s source and sent Daoist Randeng to kill him at Myriad Poison Mountain.
- Ying Zhao persuaded the Demon Race to exploit the plague and corrupt Human Race Destiny, while Xing Tian refused an alliance and insisted the Witch Clan would act on its own.
