Background / History

Ji Xueyao is one of the Seven Imperial Daughters originally bound to Ye Xuan by marriage contracts. Before Ye Xuan reaches Cloud Palace Academy, she takes control of Tianshu Tower using Mu Tianchen's token and becomes renowned across the Great Gan Dynasty for her seemingly divine array techniques. She refuses an offer to serve as Vice Director of the Imperial Observatory. 35

While awaiting Ye Xuan, she establishes the Hundred Refinements Tower's Purgatory Formation. When Ye Xuan breaks the formation protecting Chu Wan'er, Ji Xueyao senses it through her pendant, leaves nearly three years of seclusion, and rushes toward Tianxuan City. She secretly erases the tower's completion information and disconnects it from the Imperial Capital to prevent others from learning of Ye Xuan first. 22

She publicly intervenes when Xuan Zhou threatens Ye Xuan, declaring that Tianshu Tower will accept him and that she herself will protect him from the Xuan Clan. 34 On Ye Xuan and Chu Wan'er's wedding day, Ji Xueyao arrives in wedding attire and insists on marrying Ye Xuan as well.
