Hu Liena enters Martial Soul Hall Academy at six years old with her seven-year-old brother, Xie Yue. Initially timid, she hides behind him when introduced to Human Class One. She soon befriends Ji Wushuang and Yan, admires Ji Wushuang’s sword flight, and asks whether he can provide cultivation guidance 6 7.

Her admiration develops into a childhood crush. During a spar between Ji Wushuang and Xie Yue, she struggles to choose whom to support and reproaches Yan for insulting Ji Wushuang. The four friends later pledge to represent their academy proudly in the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament 12 26.

Immortal Herbs and Discipleship

Ji Wushuang gives Hu Liena the Lovesick Heartbreak Red, which she causes to bloom using her Heart Blood. He also supplies a small piece of Ninth-Grade Purple Ganoderma to replenish her blood and vitality. The resulting transformation strengthens her body enough for Ji Wushuang and Yue Guan to consider an unusually powerful fifth Spirit Ring 59 60 63.

During the subsequent hunt, Bibi Dong accepts Hu Liena as her second disciple and orders her to move from the academy dormitory to a residence near her own quarters. Tournament Campaign

Hu Liena develops her sword control under Ji Wushuang’s guidance and receives a physical replica of his Peerless Sword Casket. To let her use it in the academy tournament, he changes the rules to permit external weapons and defensive equipment 186 211 270.

In the final against Godwind Academy, she combines flying swords with charm techniques. Twelve swords restrain the opposing support Soul Masters while her charm subdues Huo Wushuang and Huo Wu. She fights on the front line alongside Xie Yue and Yan 274 275.

Sea God Island and Later Activities

On Sea God Island, Hu Liena charms the Sea Soul Beasts guarding the approach to the Sea Witch Sacred Pillar, allowing her companions to pass safely. She receives the Red-Level Eight Trials and undertakes the Sea God’s Light and Ring Sea assessments with Na’er. Their cooperation against Xiao Bai earns them their second-trial rewards, and Hu Liena subsequently reaches Titled Douluo through medicinal refinement and a god-bestowed Spirit Ring 287 289 351 353 355 356.

Hu Liena later learns the extent of Ji Wushuang’s other relationships, including his involvement with Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue. Shocked and hurt, she confronts him but remains with him; learning that she was his first girlfriend reassures her 366 367 420 421.

Back in Spirit City, she helps train Ji Youyue in sword control. She also accompanies Na’er to Star Luo City, where the Snow Empress and Ice Empress capture Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuyun. Her affection for Ji Wushuang strongly influences her behavior. She defends him, misses him intensely during their separation, and makes protecting him her personal ambition.
