With Jin's brief introduction,
Kevin roughly understood what Aura was, and that its more precise name when used was Nen.
Every living thing possessed Aura. It was a manifestation of life energy.
However, not every living thing could control and use this leaking life energy. Only through harsh training and realization could one manipulate and use it.
Such people were called Nen users.
Kevin found the term strange and thought, Shouldn't they be called Qi Masters or Qi Refiners or something?
Just as he was about to ask further, Jin refused.
"It's not that I don't want to tell you. I think I understand your current situation." Jin pointed at him and explained simply, "Your situation is very unusual. I believe you understand that yourself. You should already know that the original 'you' was also a Nen user. Given your circumstances, the best approach is to combine explanations with rehabilitation. That would be more efficient."
Kevin could not help nodding, because Jin was right. He wanted to say that they might as well start now.
But he found it difficult to speak. In a sense, Jin owed him nothing; rather, he owed Jin quite a lot.
However, Jin's words interrupted his thoughts. "It's not that I don't want to teach you." As he spoke, he waved his phone. "It's just that I have important matters to attend to, and they've already been delayed quite a bit because of you. Explaining things isn't simple, and rehabilitation will take time as well. It can't be finished in a day or two."
As he spoke, he stood up, sighed wistfully, and looked at Kevin with an almost reluctant gaze. "To be honest, I'd be very willing to train and teach you to some extent, but I have more important matters to deal with. If you trust me, I'll find you a teacher. Once I have some free time, I'll come see you. How does that sound?"
That was what he asked.
Kevin did not know Jin very well. After all, they had only spent one day together.
All he could tell was that Jin perhaps was not a bad person, and that he was extremely interested in Kevin's situation. Without thinking for too long, Kevin nodded.
"Thank you."
Jin smiled and shook his head. "Don't worry about it. You don't consider me a friend, and neither do I. But when it comes to honoring a deal, that is something you can trust a Hunter to do." With that, he immediately got to work, took out his phone, and dialed a number.
"Hello."
The petite Girl looked at the call that had just ended, a thoughtful expression appearing on her face.
"A teaching assignment? Strange."
She had just received a commissioned task from a highly renowned Nen user—Jin.
As a well-known Hunter herself, she had naturally heard that name before. After all, he was quite famous. Still, she truly had not had much interaction with him. Most of what she knew came from some of his deeds, as well as praise her old man had once given him.
To be honest, she had not particularly wanted to accept this job, even if it was from the famous Jin.
But as a renowned Gem Hunter, he had offered a price sufficient to make her take action. Besides, she was actually quite suited to taking on this job right now.
She put away the handsome men's magazine draped over her legs, hopped down from her stool, and called toward another training room, "Yungu, we're going out."
"Huh? Yes!"
An energetic voice came from the lounge. A tall young man wearing glasses emerged, dressed in a gi that looked like it was meant for some kind of judo training.
"Even during daily training, you need to maintain your appearance properly!" the Girl said in dissatisfaction.
"Huh? Sorry! Sorry!" The young man nodded repeatedly in apology and straightened his mismatched gi.
"This should be your previous campsite. Search around carefully and see if you can remember anything else." As Jin spoke, he took out another stack of documents and handed them to Kevin. "This is the information I found on you, including your registered address and properties."
After saying that, he decisively drove away in a Jeep, leaving Kevin alone in the crude campsite.
"Whew!"
Kevin took a deep breath and steadied his emotions.
"On my own now, in a strange world... Sigh, I'm already here."
Using strange words to comfort himself, Kevin pulled himself together and looked over the campsite.
This should have been his former self's campsite. Beside it stood a black Jeep covered in fallen leaves.
The campsite was extremely crude, consisting of nothing but a pitched tent. He had looked inside; aside from a sleeping bag, there was nothing else.
Clearly, his former self had not intended to stay here for long.
After tidying up a little, he got into the car, picked up his belongings, and started the engine.
Fortunately, the vehicle's layout seemed no different from that of his previous life, and the operating logic was exactly the same. The only unacceptable thing was the phone. It was still a bulky brick, with no touchscreen at all, let alone navigation.
He studied the map as he drove.
It was not until night was approaching that he finally drove out of the Nature Reserve.
The guards along the way did not stop him. He drove smoothly into the city, found a hotel, and booked a room.
After dinner, he sat on the balcony and looked down at the brightly lit city below. It looked no different from his previous life. Yet he naturally understood that this was no longer the same world.
He could not help thinking about his future life.
He had just visited an internet café to learn more, and he had also wandered the streets for quite some time.
One thing was certain: among ordinary people, his combat ability should be unbeatable. That was assuming they did not have guns, but he had one too. At least that gave him some confidence and a considerable sense of safety.
First, he definitely needed to fully understand "himself"—his name, identity, and even things like his interpersonal relationships.
Then he would leave this city and take transportation back to his "Home."
He would learn about this world and wait for his teacher to arrive. Well, the teacher Jin arranged should be a very reliable person.
As for money, honestly, he did not think he would be short of it anytime soon.
He had checked at the bank. Altogether, the cards on him held thirty-seven million Jeni.
The purchasing power of this currency, called Jeni, was roughly equivalent to the yen from his previous life. He could only use that conversion to understand and adapt to his life more quickly.
For him, that amount was absolutely enough in the short term, and it was also what made him feel more at ease.
