A strange language.
It seemed to have evolved from the way Lords communicated through some kind of wave.
Language could stir the mind's vibrations, allowing someone to convey their thoughts.
So even if someone had never heard this language before, they could instantly understand what the other person meant.
Kevin frowned at the greeting and did not respond.
That did not stop the stranger from suddenly acting oddly.
His unusual vertical eyes fixed on Kevin, then on the others standing warily behind him.
"Have you always looked like that?"
What kind of strange question was that?
For a moment, Kevin and the others had no idea how to answer.
"Have you seen others like us?"
Kevin asked cautiously.
The stranger remained where he was, still studying them with an odd look.
"You look so alike. You must be the same species... Yes, I've seen beings who look just like you, but what's inside you is different."

For some reason, Kevin immediately thought of the Bottom-Piercing Ghosts. They could control all kinds of corpses, including human ones. The outside would look the same, but what was inside would be different.
As he spoke, the stranger gave a slight bow.
"Let me introduce myself. You can call me Leckka. I'm like you."
He opened his mouth. It had looked long and narrow, but it opened far wider than Kevin had expected.
He exposed the roof of his mouth.
There, on his palate, was the same mark Kevin bore on the back of his hand.
Leckka was a recognized Lord too.
Why put the mark there?
Kevin did not understand, but it was probably better not to ask.
