Possessed Spirits was probably the name of a broad race.
It referred to beings that attached their spiritual forms to physical objects, using them as bodies to influence and control.
That was this race's fundamental ability.
The one before them belonged to a race called the Red Spirits, a branch of the Possessed Spirits.
Even without examining it carefully, Kevin could clearly sense a certain emotion emanating from it.
That was all too easy. Kevin had possessed the ability to distinguish benevolent emotions from malicious ones long ago.
Being a Red Spirit meant it was passionate, volatile, extreme-a being marked by negative emotions.
Perhaps this was a flaw of spiritual lifeforms: they were extremely susceptible to emotions and similar influences, with problems inherent to their nature.
In human terms, spiritual lifeforms were always more prone to extremes and more easily affected by emotional fluctuations.
Of course, that was only from a human perspective.
After all, humans considered creatures that were irritable, quick to anger, and unable to stay calm to be flawed.
The Dark Continent did not necessarily see things that way.
Since it had a human appearance, it had to have some connection to humans.
Moreover, it was already a lord.
Its hostility toward Kevin and the others was almost instinctive.
There were only two possibilities.
First, humanity's ancestors, or humans who had once visited this place, had incurred the Red Spirits' hatred for some reason.
How far back would that have been?
After all, the Red Spirits had maintained this human appearance for at least hundreds, if not thousands, of years.
Which human ancestor had possessed such tremendous power?
Second, lifeforms like the Red Spirits had some innate connection to humans that caused them to harbor hostility toward them.
At first, Kevin had believed it was the former.
