The Peacemaker (Part 3)
Clark's terrifying mental power probed the surroundings, causing every inch of space to tremble slightly under its influence!
Clark, now serious, was undoubtedly terrifying. Even though he didn't understand this level of extraordinary power before, he still managed to find a clue with his own strength!
The trembling space completely exposed the hidden darkness, and a dark dome appeared in Clark's mental perception, making Clark's eyes light up.
With a "poof!" sound, Clark threw a punch the next moment. The Dark Space, which Robet believed was difficult to destroy with matter and energy, was pierced through by Clark's punch, revealing Robet and Batman fighting inside.
"Hmm?" Robet and Batman, who were fighting, sensed the change in the Dark Space almost simultaneously. Robet punched Batman back, while simultaneously suppressing Batman with Ki Blast, and Mind Stone asked, "Why are you here?"
"You suddenly disappeared, how could I not come looking for you? How come you didn't leave a trace this time?" Clark's dissatisfied voice echoed in Robet's mind.
"Um... I don't know why you can't see through this Dark Space!" Robet scratched his head, looking around at the Dark Space. He didn't know the limits of Clark's X-Ray Vision, and this Dark Space was obviously not as good as the strange barrier created by Galacta and Lucifer.
"If you encounter a similar situation in the future, it's best to leave some information. I thought you'd been taken away by a mysterious powerful figure again, just like before!" Clark shook his head and earnestly advised.
"I know, you're not going to steal my opponent, are you? Although he's very strong, he's still far behind you, who can tear through the Dark Space with sheer power!" Robet continued to use his Prince's Combat Method to suppress Batman as he asked telepathically.
"Stop fighting!" Clark's voice echoed around, his warm and sunny tone carrying a unique aura of light that caused the power of the entire Dark Space to retreat slightly, as if the darkness was unwilling to contend with such a force of light.
"Superman? What are you doing here?" After Robet stopped his Prince's Combat Method, Batman looked at Clark with a serious expression. He knew how difficult it was to break through the Dark Space from the outside, especially judging from General Ika's reaction. The power that Superman had just displayed was even more terrifying than Robet's!
This made Batman's heart sink instantly. He didn't know who was stronger between Superman and Robet. In his plan, if one of the two lost control, it would be best to have the other stop the one who lost control.
However, it now seems that Superman's power may have surpassed Robet's. If Robet alone made it so difficult for Superman, who possesses Dark Power, to fight, then with Superman added to the mix, if a conflict were to break out between the three, Batman truly couldn't predict how the situation would develop...
"I wasn't planning on coming, but you two have really gone too far!" Clark's expression remained unchanged as he looked at Batman and Robet and said calmly, "Look at what you've done! Look at the state you've created here! Even the destruction caused by Demon isn't as bad as what you've done!"
"Uh..." Upon hearing Clark's words, Batman subconsciously glanced at the Gotham City. Batman was quite familiar with this area. Although he hadn't bought a house here, most of the land in Gotham belonged to his family. More importantly, Arkham Asylum, where the Joker and a group of Gotham's mental patients were imprisoned, was originally located here. Naturally, Batman paid close attention to this place...
During his previous battle with Robet, Batman hadn't had time to think about these things. But now, as Clark's words faded, Batman saw a cratered landscape, a place even war-torn areas couldn't have been more severely destroyed. This was something Batman, who had originally intended to protect Gotham, couldn't accept!
"..." Robet glanced at Clark, who was standing to the side. He naturally understood why Clark was pretending not to know him. Otherwise, Robet wouldn't have used Telepathic Communication to communicate with Clark when Clark appeared earlier. But now, Robet suddenly felt that with Clark's words, his battle with Batman seemed to be coming to an end.
Fortunately, Robet and Batman had a great fight in the Dark Space earlier, and although they couldn't continue fighting, the exhilaration of the previous battle was still barely acceptable.
"So, what were we here for? The problem you were looking for, it seems, is solved now, right?" Thinking this, Robet looked at Batman and said, "That Shadow Demon, comparable to Demon King, was defeated by me and died at your hands. The power that controlled the Shadowkhan is now under your control. Gotham doesn't seem to have any other crises, right?"
With a "whoosh," Batman deactivated the Dark Space, took a deep breath, and looked at Robet, saying, "We've only solved part of the problem; there's still one crucial guy we haven't dealt with!"
"The owner of that voice? What is his purpose? And how did you get the Mask?" Robet fighting spirit was gradually waning, gradually withdrew from the Great Ape Power: Wrath state and habitually transformed into Vegeta's appearance, looking at Batman and asking.
"He probably just wanted to make me lose control! But what happens next is none of your business. Thanks for your help, I'll pay you..." Batman waved his hand, giving Robet a clear order to leave.
Batman didn't want Robet to stay in Gotham any longer. He worried that once Superman, this third-party threat, left, Robet would be eager to fight him again. From Robet stopping because of Superman's words, Batman deduced that Robet must know Superman, and might even have fought Superman before, and that there must have been a certain difference in their strength, otherwise the belligerent Robet wouldn't be reacting this way.
"Thank you so much for stopping us from fighting, Superman. If it's alright, perhaps we can have a chat?" Batman was more curious about Superman than Robet, who had already figured out most of his fighting abilities, because he knew almost nothing about Clark's abilities and limits. He looked at Clark and extended an invitation.
"No need. There are still too many Demon ravaging the earth. I'd better deal with them as much as possible!" Clark glanced at Batman indifferently. Clark didn't want to have too much contact with this guy, especially Batman, who was filled with Dark Power.
"I also hope that after I leave, you will not continue to fight and destroy this planet. After all, you said before that you came to solve problems, not to create them!"
As soon as Clark finished speaking, he shot into the sky and disappeared from Robet and Batman's sight.
"Alright, since you don't want to fight anymore, let's fight again another time!" Robet shrugged at Batman, said a few words, and then disappeared in a flash.
"If you had had this attitude before, we wouldn't have needed to play the second half at all..." Batman thought to himself as he looked in the direction Robet disappeared. He then touched his Mask, looked around at his surroundings, sighed, and vanished from the spot.
Gotham City has now returned to calm. After realizing he couldn't find the Joker, Batman abandoned his plan to use the Shadow Warrior to continue creating chaos in Gotham. He can only think of other ways to find the Joker.
However, based on Batman's understanding of the Joker, he believes that the Joker will eventually return. Batman even thinks that once he rebuilds Arkham Asylum, the Joker and his gang of mentally ill individuals will likely choose to return to the place they know best.
As for why Batman knows so much about a group of mentally ill people, the answer is that Batman himself is... ahem, the answer is that Batman has contingency plans for every enemy and knows each one very well!
Meanwhile, at Batman's house, Butler Alfred, breathed a sigh of relief. He had previously noticed that the Shadow Warrior in Gotham were not continuing their killing spree, but rather seemed to be deliberately creating chaos.
From that moment on, Butler Alfred who knew Batman very well, was certain that his master had not lost control, and that he did not need to use the backup plan he had prepared to deal with Batman losing control, a plan he was completely unwilling to use.
"Master, you're back." In Batman's home, with the Shadow Demon dealt with, the Ika Mask in his grasp, and the Joker nowhere to be seen, Batman didn't need to worry too much about the situation in Gotham. Even though the various classes in Gotham were now at odds again, they weren't going to fight each other for the time being.
Batman's current plans are twofold: first, to thoroughly investigate the Mask's true nature; and second, to restore the landscape and environment of Gotham City, rebuild Arkham Asylum, and re-lock up those mentally ill individuals!
"Yes, I'm sorry to have worried you before. Construct a brand new database, and record Robet's various abilities in it first..." Batman nodded after hearing the familiar voice of his Butler Alfred, and gave the instructions in a low voice.
"Next, I'll construct a new database to back up all the Mask's abilities, reminding me to experiment with different supernatural abilities and their effects under the Mask's power, to see if I can make the Mask even more powerful!"
"Finally, after further investigating the Demon ' movements, I will send these Shadow Warrior to deal with them. With them around, we can temporarily resolve the problem of Demon Demon rampant in Gotham..."
Batman easily removed the Mask, just as the Joker had done before, because they were not puppets of the Mask, but Mask masters, and their willpower far surpassed that of the Ika Mask!
Furthermore, Batman did not intend to make the Ika Mask his regular power, just as the Joker always used this power rather than becoming obsessed with it.
"Yes, sir." Butler Alfred replied and turned to prepare, while Batman examined the Mask in his hand. He sensed the vast Dark Power contained behind the Mask. Even though the power he was currently using was already terrifying, it was still far inferior to the power contained behind the Mask.
The difference was far greater than Batman could have imagined, like the difference between a glass of water and an endless ocean!
Therefore, Batman worries that if more than one person possesses this Mask, what would happen if others obtained Mask and wielded such terrifying power...?
After all, not everyone is like him and the Joker, able to treat these extraordinary powers as mere playthings and not take them seriously. Who knows, some people might actually turn to the dark side because of the power of the Mask and become terrifying Dark Lord, which would be far more terrifying than the Demon that have appeared now!
"Tell me, do you still have no companions, or rather, are there any other Mask similar to yours?" Batman asked in a low voice, looking at the Ika Mask in his hand.
"Yes! I have companions. We have nine Mask in total, and we are a Shadowkhan that wields nine different Dark Power. I am the master of the Shadowkhan Legion!" General Ika felt a terrifying pressure enveloping him. This pressure was different from the pressure he felt from the Joker. When facing the Joker, General Ika couldn't keep up with the Joker's thought process at all. But when facing Batman, General Ika seemed to understand Batman's intentions more easily.
For example, Batman didn't want to talk before, so during the battle, General Ika didn't dare to make a sound, even though he was constantly shocked by Robet's fighting performance and Clark's appearance.
Now, General Ika understands Batman's meaning: either reveal information about his companions or Devastation. General Ika can sense Batman's resolute intention; Batman will not give him any room for maneuver!
So, in order to survive, General Ika chose to betray his teammates. In any case, such betrayal is unlikely to cause any real harm to his teammates. If Batman could actually reunite the Mask as a result, it would actually be a good thing. Besides, he wouldn't reveal the whole truth anyway.
"How do you rank in terms of power? Where do you stand?" Batman asked, squinting at the Ika Mask.
"My ranking should be the strongest after the boss; none of the other Mask are as powerful as me!" General Ika said with a strong sense of pride.
"So, you're the second strongest of the nine Mask? Then can you sense where your companions are?" Batman didn't believe General Ika's words and continued to ask.
"If we could really sense the location of our companions, we should have already gathered together. In fact, you and Mr. Joker are among the very few who can resist the power of the Mask. Normally, those who obtain the Mask will only become Mask puppets..." General Ika said helplessly.
