Guardian and Awakening
Soon, led by Jess, Robet and the others headed to the so-called Magic Academy. As for whether there would be any ambush or trickery, Robet was not worried at all, and even looked forward to it.
There was no other way; the Angel's Blood in the hands of the NPC Constantine, who issued the quest, had been untouched for a long time. Since Jess was a member of the Shadow Hunter lineage and had some connection to the Angel's Blood, Robet didn't mind checking on Jess first. If there were any new discoveries, that would be even better.
Led by Jess, the group arrived in front of a building. Robet and Constantine raised their eyebrows simultaneously, while Clary and Luke seemed oblivious to what they had noticed, as if they didn't quite understand why a Magic Academy would be in such a place.
With a "whoosh!", and to the bewilderment of Clary and Luke, Jess cast the Opening Spell. Immediately, as if a curtain of light had been lifted in front of the building, a completely different, ancient Magic Academy appeared before them.
It seems that this Magic Academy has a very long history, and indeed it does. The Shadow Hunter lineage existed before the Dimensional Array was set up in Kamar-Taj, making it one of the oldest branches of magic.
However, what they gained was also their loss. As time went on, the power of the Angel's Blood within the Shadow Hunter weakened, and the Shadow Hunter lineage grew weaker and weaker. Forget about competing with Kamar-Taj for the top spot in the magician realm; just avoiding being at the bottom of the pack was already a feat.
However, this was unavoidable. The reason why Shadow Hunter were born was because the Faith Power of the group of mages who believed in Heaven moved the Angel Raziel. However, although the Shadow Hunter later obtained the power of Angel's Blood, they could not be considered believers in Heaven, nor did they have any intention of believing in Heaven or God.
The Shadow Hunter tradition has been passed down from generation to generation. Apart from remembering to continue slaying Demon, they are no different from ordinary mages. They are more like Angel to fight Demon than pure believers!
"This is where our academy is located. I will take you to the Portal. I hope you won't wander off..." Upon seeing his own Magic Academy, Jess visibly breathed a sigh of relief. He looked at Robet and Constantine, his eyes flickering slightly as he spoke. As for the remaining Clary and Luke, Jess didn't take them seriously. Even if Clary might become Shadow Hunter like him, there were still differences between Shadow Hunter!
Jess is the most talented and strongest Shadow Hunter among the younger generation in the entire Magic Academy. Even though he was intimidated by Robet, it doesn't mean he's afraid of everyone.
Robet and Constantine exchanged a glance, nodded, and without saying anything more, followed Jess into the Magic Academy. Before entering, Robet, as usual, planted a Ki Blast so that Clark could be contacted at any time if anything happened.
Of course, this was also to prevent Clark from not being able to see him after he entered the Magic Academy and then worrying and searching for him everywhere.
"It's not that heavily isolated!" After entering the Magic Academy, Robet had a thought that flashed through his mind. He could still sense things outside the Magic Academy; it wasn't completely cut off from the outside world.
That makes sense, as Robet and Constantine had already noticed something amiss when they arrived here before, so it seems this Magic Academy isn't very good.
Jess was unaware that Robet was secretly criticizing his Magic Academy. He was silently leading the way, not saying a word, but in secret, he had already begun to contact the Guardian of the Magic Academy.
Even though Jess had previously thought Robet might be stronger than the Guardian, Jess still needed the Guardian to help keep things under control. Jess believed that even if the Guardian weren't Robet's match, they should at least be enough to make Robet wary...
"..." However, Jess was unaware that his methods couldn't be hidden from Robet and Constantine's very noses. But Robet and Constantine had no intention of exposing Jess, especially Robet, who was already looking forward to what kind of trouble Jess would cause.
"Gentlemen, you have come from afar. May I ask what brings you here... Hmm? Constantine?!" After receiving Jess's message, the Guardian appeared before Robet and the others, speaking in a mysterious manner. Suddenly, he stopped, frowned, and looked at Constantine, saying, "Why are you here again? You're not welcome here!"
"I'm just passing through..." Constantine shrugged at the Guardian, it seemed that some conflict might have occurred when Constantine came to the Magic Academy before.
"Hmph! You stole our Magic Book back then, and then just threw it outside our Magic Academy. You still dare to come here after humiliating us like that?" The Guardian narrowed his eyes, thinking of Constantine's previous actions.
Previously, Constantine, led by a Shadow Hunter, came to the Magic Academy under the guise of an exchange, but ended up stealing the Magic Book from the Magic Academy.
In other words, the Guardian couldn't leave the Magic Academy; otherwise, he would have already gone out to hunt down Constantine. However, to the surprise of the Guardian and everyone at the Magic Academy, several months after Constantine stole the Magic Book Magic Book, Constantine returned it, but not to any Shadow Hunter; instead, he carelessly discarded it at the entrance of the Magic Academy...
"I don't have your Magic Academy's opening spell, do I? If I did, I would have just come in and put the Magic Book on the shelf!" Constantine said innocently, spreading his hands. "I know the principle of 'borrowing and returning, borrowing again is easy,' so could you teach me your opening spell?"
"Hmph! Teach you? If I taught you, our Magic Academy would probably be emptied of Magic Book by the next day!" The Guardian sneered, giving Constantine a deep look before speaking in a low voice.
Although the Guardian had never met Constantine in the outside world, he had heard of Constantine's great name before Constantine's first visit. The Guardian originally thought that these bad reputations came from the Demon and should be biased by the Demon, so they were not reliable. Therefore, when Constantine arrived at the Magic Academy, the Guardian gave him a warm welcome.
However, the Guardian did not expect that Constantine was even more wicked than the Demon had described. Perhaps in Constantine's eyes, the Magic Academy and other extraordinary individuals were no different from Demon, which is why Constantine acted in this way...
"Sigh! We've known each other for a while, and you think of me like this? I'm really disappointed!" Constantine sighed heavily, looked at Robet, and said, "Let's go. Since they don't welcome us, let's leave!"
Seeing that Constantine seemed to be hinting at something, Robet frowned, but still gave Clary and Luke a look, signaling them to turn around and leave with him.
"You can leave, but the others are still guests of our Magic Academy! They don't need to go!" Seeing that Robet and the others were about to leave, the Guardian quickly spoke up, while looking at Clary with a face full of emotion and nostalgia, "Child, do you know? You and your mother are exactly alike..."
"Hey! Before you say that, check if anyone else is here!" Luke was instantly enraged by the Guardian's words. What did he mean? Mentioning his future stepdaughter's past in front of him?
"Hmm? Werewolf?" The Guardian frowned upon sensing the aura Luke was unleashing, and asked with some confusion, "How could Jocelyn be involved with Werewolf? She... never mind, child, I can sense that you possess immense potential. Do you wish to unlock that potential and gain great power?"
The Guardian had originally intended to give Jocelyn a scathing critique, but for some reason, he gave up and instead watched Clary coax him with a benevolent expression.
"This..." Upon hearing the Guardian's words, a hint of hesitation flashed in Clary's eyes. She then glanced at Robet, Constantine, and Luke beside her, and seeing that their expressions remained unchanged, she turned to the Guardian and asked, "Will it take a long time to realize my potential? My mother has been captured by that Valentine, and I need to use the Portal to rescue her..."
In the past, even knowing she might possess extraordinary powers, Clary wouldn't have cared too much. But now it's different. Clary's mother has been captured, and she feels she needs this power. Even with Robet, Constantine, and Luke helping her, she still hopes to have power of her own.
"It won't take long, and using the Portal requires strong willpower. If your willpower isn't strong enough, it could be dangerous. So it's better to wait until you realize your talent before looking for your mother..." The Guardian's expression changed slightly when he heard Valentine, but it was barely noticeable unless you looked closely. He quickly shook his head kindly and looked at Clary with a soft smile as he spoke.
"That will be troublesome!" Seeing that Robet, Constantine, and Luke did not object, Clary took a deep breath and looked at the Guardian pleadingly.
With a "whoosh," a mysterious Magic Sigil flashed in the Guardian's hand, transforming into a beam of light that shone on Clary's arm. Clary saw a familiar symbol appear on her arm, and then her consciousness began to blur.
"Clary!" Luke was the first to react and caught the unconscious Clary. Robet and Constantine also noticed, but they didn't move. Instead, they squinted at the Guardian.
"What did you do?!" Luke, after embracing the unconscious Clary, transformed into Werewolf and angrily questioned the Guardian.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what happened either. Normally, awakening the power of Shadow Hunter shouldn't cause someone to faint!" The Guardian looked utterly innocent and confused, then turned to Luke and said, "How about this, take her to rest first, and I'll check on her, okay? Of course, you can all be there..."
Luke frowned upon hearing this, glancing at Robet and Constantine behind him. Neither of them objected; instead, they nodded. Constantine even added, "As long as you don't kick me out, I don't mind. Of course, once she wakes up, you'll have to borrow our Portal..."
"Of course!" The Guardian nodded with a smile, then looked at Jess beside him and said, "You must be tired too, go back and rest. I'll take care of things here..."
"Oh!" Seeing that Clary had suddenly fainted, Jess wanted to know what was going on, but since the Guardian had already said so, he had no reason to stay here and could only leave dejectedly.
Luke, now back in human form, carried Clary and followed behind the Guardian. Robet and Constantine exchanged a glance, gazing intently at the Guardian's retreating figure, before also following.
"I'll go and check on her condition..." After Clary lay down on the hospital bed, the Guardian walked to Clary's side, placed a hand on Clary's head, explained briefly, and then silently chanted some incantation.
The next moment, the Guardian's consciousness began to invade Clary's mind and memories, as if searching for something, but the tightly closed doors blocked the Guardian's consciousness from the outside, not giving the Guardian the opportunity to read Clary's memories!
"Hmm? How could this be?" A hint of surprise and disappointment flashed in the Guardian's eyes, then he stared at Clary in silence, as if he had encountered some problem.
"What exactly happened to Clary?" Luke frowned, wolf claws gradually growing from his hands as he glared at the Guardian and questioned him.
"Relax a bit, I need to look up some information..." The Guardian sighed helplessly, looked at Luke and said softly, then nodded to Robet and Constantine before turning to leave.
With a "smack!", just as the Guardian walked past Robet, Robet slapped the Guardian on the shoulder, making the Guardian's body tremble.
"You?" The Guardian turned around, looking at Robet with a hesitant expression, and asked, "What do you want?"
"So, have you uncovered her memories? Have you found what you're looking for?" Robet's lips curled into a slight smile as he looked at the Guardian with anticipation. "If you have, could you contact that Valentine and have him come over? If he has anyone else backing him, it would be best to have those people come over too..."
"You!" Luke's expression changed upon hearing Robet's words. He instantly transformed into Werewolf and glared at the Guardian, looking as if he were about to tear the Guardian apart at the slightest provocation.
"What are you saying? Why don't I understand?" The Guardian's expression changed slightly, but he quickly regained his composure and looked at Robet, saying, "I kindly treated you as a guest, but you wouldn't happen to be an unwelcome guest like Constantine, would you...?"
With a loud "bang!", before the Guardian could finish speaking, he was sent flying by Robet and landed on the ground in a rather disheveled state.
