Father-Son Conflict, Battle of the Spider
Upon hearing Peter Parker's words, Richard Parker fell silent for a moment, because he hadn't seen Peter Parker for many years. Although he still kept an eye on Peter Parker, this kind of observation was definitely different from living face-to-face.
Even though Richard Parker still harbors feelings for Peter Parker, especially given Peter Parker's Spider abilities, Peter Parker will inevitably feel some distance and unfamiliarity towards Richard Parker. For example, Richard Parker feels that it's been too long since Peter Parker last met, so even though Peter Parker recognizes him, he doesn't seem inclined to be close to him, which leaves Richard Parker feeling somewhat regretful and guilty.
"My child, some things are more complicated than you imagine..." Thinking of this, Richard Parker sighed and looked at Peter Parker, saying softly, "Back then, your mother and I faked our deaths to escape the gaze of certain people and be able to focus on our research."
"Did Mother also fake her death? Then where is she?" Peter Parker had guessed the truth of the matter after seeing Richard Parker, but when he heard Richard Parker mention his mother, Peter Parker still instinctively asked.
"Alas, she's gone after all, due to an accident. It's a pity you didn't get to see her one last time..." Richard Parker said sadly, looking at Peter Parker with a somewhat dejected expression.
"What exactly are you doing this for? Just for your so-called research?" Peter Parker took a deep breath and glanced at the direction of the lights. He could see various experimental devices and research equipment under those lights, indicating that Richard Parker was still working on his past achievements.
"You're still young, you don't understand. Back then, your mother and I worked at the Osborn Group. Norman Osborn was a wolf in sheep's clothing, wanting to create a drug that could enhance the human body. After some research, I made some progress, but someone like Norman Osborn would never hand over such research results to him. That's why I took your mother and left the Osborn Group, and we've been hiding ever since..." Richard Parker shook his head and looked at Peter Parker seriously as he spoke.
"So, your potion is related to those Spider? And my abilities and mutations are also because of you, right?" Peter Parker looked directly into Richard Parker's eyes, making no attempt to look away, and asked bluntly.
"Huh?! How did you know?!" A hint of surprise flashed in Richard Parker's eyes. He had initially thought that Peter Parker's appearance here was an accident, after all, Richard Parker knew a thing or two about the Shadow-Devouring Soldiers outside. Richard Parker had even assumed that Peter Parker had come here in pursuit of the Shadow-Devouring Soldiers. But now it seemed that Peter Parker knew more than he had imagined.
Richard Parker was unaware that Peter Parker had indeed come here to track down the Shadow-Devouring Soldiers. Peter Parker initially thought this was Hak foo's hideout, who controlled the Shadow-Devouring Soldiers, but he never imagined that he would soon uncover the deep-seated grudges and feuds between the Parker Family and Osborn Family...
"Isn't it obvious? There are quite a few Spider symbols on your lab benches, and isn't there a huge Spider behind your lab?" Peter Parker's gaze turned towards the direction of the lab, or more precisely, the back of the lab.
After Richard Parker appeared, Peter Parker's Spider-Sense detected a hidden threat. When Peter Parker secretly observed, he saw a huge Spider, almost as big as a small car. It's hard to imagine how Richard Parker managed to raise such a terrifying monster.
"You actually discovered it?" Richard Parker's lips curled up slightly as he looked at Peter Parker with some admiration. "As expected of you, you perfectly match my research results. My research using my and Mary's genes was indeed correct. However, I don't quite understand where your ability to unleash lightning comes from. It doesn't seem to be one of those abilities in my research."
"This is an ability I acquired myself, it has nothing to do with you..." Peter Parker slowly shook his head, looking at Richard Parker and said, "So, you've been hiding here to conduct these so-called experiments, and I'm just a test subject you placed outside?"
"How can you say that? You are my son, the continuation of my and your mother's genes, how could you be an experiment?" Richard Parker was stunned for a moment upon hearing this, then smiled and asked in return.
"Then why did you agree to research the Serum with the Osborn Group, instead of using Norman Osborn's genes?" Peter Parker looked deeply at Richard Parker and asked, "When your research yielded results, why didn't you let the Spider bite you instead of sending Spider all the way here to me?"
"Norman Osborn's genes are far too weak; there's no point in studying them. And how do you know your mother and I didn't get bitten by Spider?" Richard Parker smiled and said softly, "My child, we've been apart for too long, and there seem to be some misunderstandings between us. But it doesn't matter. Now that we've met again, I won't hide anything from you anymore..."
"The Spider genes in your body haven't actually been fully developed yet. I'm still conducting further research. Now that you're here, it's a good opportunity for me to give you a proper examination..."
"Wait! Mother died because of the Spider experiments?" Peter Parker suddenly realized something upon hearing Richard Parker's words, frowned, and glared at Richard Parker as he asked.
"Huh?" Richard Parker was taken aback. He hadn't expected Peter Parker to guess this. He looked at Peter Parker approvingly, nodded, and said with a smile, "As expected of our child, you're really clever. You're right, Mary did die because she couldn't withstand the Spider experiments. But that was because she participated in the experiments naturally. At the time, we had already used many homeless people for experiments. From the data analysis, our genes should also be able to withstand the Spider experiments. It's just a pity that we failed in the end..."
Richard Parker spoke casually, and this time when he talked about the death of Peter Parker's mother, there was no sadness on his face. He also did not change his tone at all when talking about using homeless people for experiments, as if the experimental subjects were not homeless people at all, but a group of lab rats.
"You say Norman Osborn is a wolf in sheep's clothing, but I think you're the wolf in sheep's clothing! What is your ultimate goal?!" Peter Parker's eyes flashed with anger upon hearing Richard Parker's words. Having already had little affection for Richard Parker Richard Parker, Peter Parker became even more wary of him after deducing the truth of what happened back then. Now, listening to Richard Parker's account, he felt even more disgusted with him. In Richard Parker Peter Parker's heart, Richard Parker was no longer family; Ben Parker and Aunt May were his true family!
There is no deep affection between Peter Parker and Richard Parker at this point. After learning that Richard Parker still wants to use him for experiments, Peter Parker is eager to find out what Richard Parker's ultimate goal is!
Having spent over a decade hiding in this dark and gloomy place, conducting experiments day after day, Peter Parker didn't believe that Richard Parker was simply creating a meaningless Spider-Man for himself.
Richard Parker must be involved in a conspiracy that Peter Parker is unaware of, a much larger conspiracy. Otherwise, once Peter Parker becomes Spider-Man, there would be no need to continue the research.
Moreover, creating a Spider-Man is meaningless in itself. Peter Parker is not Harry Osborn. He has some genetic problems and is physically weak, so he needs to mutate into Spider to survive.
Back in high school, Peter Parker wasn't physically very strong, but that was due to Peter Parker personality and lack of exercise, a completely different situation from Harry Osborn's.
Therefore, Peter Parker still doesn't understand why Richard Parker insisted on conducting Spider experiments, turning himself into this state...
"What is the ultimate goal? Of course, it's to enable the evolution of all human life!" Richard Parker's lips slowly curled into a smile upon hearing Peter Parker's question, his eyes gleaming with fervor. He looked at Peter Parker with some excitement and said, "Humanity is far too weak. Only my research can enable all of humanity to evolve. At that time, I will become a pioneer of human civilization and a hero to all mankind!"
With a "whoosh!", just as Richard Parker finished speaking, a blur rushed toward Peter Parker. Peter Parker was prepared and dodged the blur, his body pressed against the ceiling. Another blur also stopped on the ceiling.
This afterimage wasn't Richard Parker, but the enormous Spider Peter Parker had discovered earlier. Peter Parker could now clearly see just how sharp the Spider's eight legs were, and even its disgusting mouth was clearly visible!
"This is disgusting! I'm suddenly starting to feel a bit repulsed by the fact that I'm Spider-Man..." Peter Parker Peter Parker n't thought there was anything wrong with Spider before, but when such a big, ugly Spider appeared in front of him, he still felt uncomfortable and couldn't help but complain.
"Peter, we could have worked together to create a better tomorrow for humanity, but now you seem to be somewhat resistant to me, so I have no choice but to leave you here with me..." Richard Parker said to Peter Parker with some regret.
"Furthermore, Peter, you need to change your mindset. It's so beautiful, just like your deceased mother, how can you say it's disgusting? You will be a god of future human civilization, do you know that?"
"Spider becoming a god? I think you're possessed!" Peter Parker scoffed, flicking his hands towards the Spider, sending out two streams of electricity that instantly struck the Spider.
"Smack!"
"Smack!"
However, to Peter Parker's surprise, the Spider was knocked back by the two electric shocks, but it was not seriously injured, nor was it knocked away. Its performance was far superior to that of the Shadow-Devouring Soldiers!
"Peter, I'll also study your ability, but it's a bit too weak. I'll help you improve it later..." Richard Parker slowly shook his head and said with a light laugh, "So, it's better if you give up resisting now, to avoid having to slowly heal your wounds later..."
"Heh, if I weren't injured, what good would a mere Spider be to withstand my power?" Peter Parker said disdainfully, giving the Giant Spider a deep look. Just then, the Giant Spider suddenly spat out a thick white liquid, heading straight for Peter Parker.
This Spider Web was much thicker and more viscous than Peter Parker's Spider Web, and there was a greater quantity of it. Faced with this overwhelming amount of Spider Web, Peter Parker finally understood what Pietro and the others had felt when he sparred with Pietro before.
With a "whoosh!" sound, Peter Parker was still very fast. He dodged the Spider Web in a flash. The Spider Web hit the ceiling and instantly corroded a large part of it.
It's clear that the Giant Spider's Spider Web possesses far greater destructive power and toxicity than Peter Parker before he gained the power of thunder!
With a loud "bang!", just as Peter Parker dodged the Spider Web and looked up at the ceiling, his Spider-Sense alarm went off. Immediately afterward, Peter Parker's arms appeared in front of him, and a terrifying force emanated from his arms, sending Peter Parker flying and crashing heavily to the ground.
"Evacuation is recommended. There are no Avengers nearby to provide support. If we continue fighting, the Mecha may not be able to get here in time..." Just as Peter Parker was getting up from the ground somewhat disheveled, Jarvis's notification sounded, startling Peter Parker.
Before arriving at the depths of this abandoned Subway Station, Jarvis had already informed Tony Stark of Peter Parker's location to prevent any accidents that might occur to Peter Parker and leave them unable to be rescued in time.
However, once inside, Tony Stark and his team were preoccupied with dealing with the Shadow-Devouring Soldiers and had no time to rescue Peter Parker. They also had very few Mecha available to deploy.
Even when Peter Parker and Richard Parker first met, Jarvis never imagined that the father and son would end up fighting, let alone that there would be a Giant Spider involved...
Therefore, when Jarvis saw that Peter Parker was no match for the Giant Spider while injured, he decisively advised Peter Parker to leave first...
