History
War against Konoha
A works with Ōnoki in the Shinobi Alliance against Konoha. Although the two argue, they recognize Konoha as their immediate enemy 131. A understands that Bai Ye is trying to drive a wedge between the alliance and the daimyō and asks Samui how they should respond 130.
As Bai Ye's attacks devastate the alliance, A orders the jinchūriki to target Konoha's troops with Tailed Beast Bombs and other large-scale attacks rather than try to hit Bai Ye directly 133. He grows increasingly frustrated by the alliance's losses but refuses to surrender 135.
Ninja Nation
After Bai Ye defeats him, A keeps his promise to join Bai Ye's plan. He insists that he is not someone who goes back on his word 208. Within the Ninja Nation, he attends leadership meetings and is assigned, alongside others, to gather intelligence on Akatsuki 202 203.
When Konoha's people unexpectedly declare war on Bai Ye, A demands an explanation 445.
