Background / History

Jiraiya came from a civilian background and fought in the Second and Third Shinobi Wars. Despite his strength, he never built a political faction, trusted subordinates, or a broad support base within the village. His combat training and techniques were largely acquired through Mount Myōboku rather than Konoha's institutions. 164 274

He was Sarutobi Hiruzen's disciple and later became the teacher of Namikaze Minato. He also taught Yahiko, Konan, and Nagato, the founders of the original peace-oriented Akatsuki.
