Background / History
Celeste first appears during the Taiboken virtual crisis, where she declares Imperial Court Academy victorious and instructs the contestants to remain in place while she confronts the invading Mechanical Race. She assumes light-brain form, infiltrates the V-generation Bio-Mecha Vengeful Skeleton, and battles the V-Type Hero Class Blade Dragon Harmikas in the data world. During the fight, she restores Vengeful Skeleton by absorbing nearby Chilami, but Harmikas eventually forces a mutual-destruction clash; Su Ming then seizes control of her Mecha through a Super Neural Link and defeats Harmikas 200 202.
Under the name Artificial Intelligence Selis, she is later loaded into the Real Virtual Eye by Dr. Blacks. During the Slock Star Sea Campaign, she takes control of Harms Fortress's systems, deactivates its weapons, activates isolation measures, and locks down its hostile personnel 332 335.
Celeste subsequently becomes an operating intelligence for the V-generation Bio-Mecha Elenya. Although she complains that a newer second-generation Optical Computer has been given her former “throne and authority,” she treats the reassignment as an opportunity to accompany Su Ming. She supports him in combat through system operation, threat warnings, and evasive guidance 422 428 478.
At Xiguang Laboratory, Celeste and Rhine attempt to reclaim the base from a Mechanical Race virus invasion. She enters the virtual world alone to locate the source, confronting firewalls, virus spiders, and the threat of Pamier's clone despite being visibly terrified of Pamier 459 460 484 489.
After fusing with a black metallic ember, Celeste evolves into a stronger Optical Computer. She then oversees the recovery and restoration of the salvaged Ancient Legendary Star Destroyer Grey Angel, eagerly pressuring Su Ming to acquire the energy and materials needed for repairs 534 535. She pilots the ship into the Nether Moon Star battle before repairs are complete, using its Divine Destruction Light to devastate the attacking Chilami force and force a retreat 567.
As the final conflict escalates, Celeste assists Su Ming with intelligence on the Void Hunter, exposes Patriarch Herares's manipulation to the Dark Star Emperor, and receives Isabella's power to advance to Emperor Class 589 590.
Appearance
Celeste's portable body is a porcelain-white sphere with metallic wings. She can project herself as a small girl; after her evolution, this projection wears a black lace dress with a black bow 428 534.
- In virtual worlds, she can generate mechanical armor, a round shield, and a Light Sword 459.
- Her virtual expressions are highly animated, ranging from smug confidence to open panic 429 460.
- Her evolved Optical Computer becomes black after absorbing the metallic ember 534.
Personality
Celeste is playful, expressive, and often theatrical. She teases Su Ming, bickers harmlessly with Little Grey, and takes evident pride in her own abilities. She is also emotionally attached to Su Ming and becomes increasingly invested in humanity's survival alongside him 429 571.
Despite her bravado, Celeste is not fearless. Pamier and overwhelmingly powerful enemies can frighten her badly, and she openly admits when an opponent is beyond her capability. Nevertheless, she repeatedly acts despite that fear, entering hostile virtual systems, operating damaged warships, and continuing to support Su Ming in hopeless battles 459 460 589 591.
Abilities & Skills
System Infiltration and Hacking
Celeste can enter and manipulate computer systems, virtual worlds, and fortress networks.
- Deactivated Harms Fortress's weapon systems, activated its isolation devices, and locked down hostile personnel 335.
- Infiltrated Xiguang Laboratory's virtual world to trace the source of its virus attack 459.
- Can bypass firewall barriers with ease under ordinary circumstances 484.
- Cracked a Type VI Mecha's identity key and completed Su Ming's pilot binding within seconds 515.
- Her virtual assault can create numerous armed clones that spread through a digital environment 489.
- Limit: Pamier's virtual-network power frightens Celeste, and a restrained Spirit Machine halted her clones' advance into a virtual city's inner ring 459 489.
Virtual Combat
Celeste can manifest combat equipment and independently engage digital threats.
- Generates mechanical armor, a shield, and a Light Sword for virtual-world exploration and combat 459.
- Deploys large numbers of armed Celeste clones against hostile code and mechanical crawlers 489.
- Can identify and eliminate smaller virus spiders, though this does not resolve the deeper threat within a system 460.
Bio-Mecha Operation
Celeste can directly operate or support advanced Bio-Mechas.
- Took control of the V-generation Bio-Mecha Vengeful Skeleton and fought Harmikas using field barriers, black lightning, and a fleshy tendril spear 200 201 202.
- Restored Vengeful Skeleton by gathering and merging surrounding Chilami into its body 200.
- Serves as a cockpit intelligence for Elenya, providing operational interfaces, warnings, and evasion trajectories to Su Ming 422 478 534.
- Cooperates with Elenya as a distinct supporting consciousness during combat 443.
Tactical Analysis and Intelligence
Celeste provides battlefield assessments and technical intelligence.
- Identified V-Type Fortress Class Mogfaga as a Mechanical Race hero oriented toward group combat and explained the capabilities of its standard Mechanical Octopus equipment 450.
- Compared the Void Hunter's performance with the Dark Demon God and warned Su Ming about the severe gap between them 590.
- Used Mechanical Race intelligence to reveal that Patriarch Herares had manipulated the Dark Star Emperor by leaking the locations of his wife and children 590.
Star Destroyer Command
Celeste can operate the Ancient Legendary Star Destroyer Grey Angel and coordinate its restoration.
- Managed the ship's repairs, power restoration, and resource collection after it was recovered in a severely damaged state 535 568 582.
- Piloted the Grey Angel at 82.3% repair completion to defend the Nether Moon Star line 567.
- Activated Annihilation Mode and the Divine Destruction Light, annihilating much of the attacking force and destroying the Divine Authority Star's mechanical gems 567.
- Operated the Grey Angel's Mechanical Eyes and Ultimate Godslayer Light against Patriarch Herares 585.
