Under the Gods' watchful eyes, after a period of searching, other Experiment Ships gradually began targeting the same swarm. More than a dozen cruisers patrolled around it at sublight speeds, unleashing deadly lightning at the Tyranid swarm.
The seemingly immense swarm looked especially clumsy when faced with combat at such extreme range. It could only follow some unseen guidance and attack the star sector where the Morning Star Ship was located, but its efforts were clearly futile.
The war bodies that opened Warp Bubbles in an attempt to travel faster than light became the Golden Barracudas' primary targets. As waves of gravitational waves burst, swathes of the swarm were torn apart by the violent gravity.
The battle lasted about a week. By then, the Morning Star Ships had grown to several dozen, and they completely tore apart the enormous swarm. Of the Tyranid Fleet, only a mere thousand or so Planet War Bodies remained; almost none of its other escort shipworms had survived.
At that point, the starships that had been attacking relentlessly finally fell silent. The Golden Barracudas, darting through deep space, made an elegant turn and aimed their sharp sword-jaws at the surviving Tyranid Planet Class Shipworms.
"Here we go~" On the Throne of War, the Lord of War leaned his divine body slightly forward, evidently quite interested in what came next.
The Morning Star Ships' powerful acceleration from sublight speeds to FTL left a deep impression on the onlookers. They reached FTL in just a few seconds and continued accelerating.
Dozens of straight Gravity Beams spread through the darkness of deep space. The speeding Golden Barracudas were like arrows piercing through spacetime, rushing toward their respective targets.
A few minutes later, the surviving swarm received feedback that enemy ships were approaching.
But it was already too late.
