The ship shuddered violently. Lorgar's face darkened as he commanded his loyal fleet to fight the Rebel Army, but every report told him that the threat of death was already at their doorstep.
"Your Highness, the Warp jump failed. A special force field has infected the entire sector, preventing Warp Rifts from opening," Kor Phaeron reported anxiously.
"We have to break through!"
"It's too late." Lorgar sighed and looked toward a corner of the starry sky. Far away, the vast Golden Fleet was slowly drawing near. Through the Daemon Prince's keen Extraordinary Perception, he could clearly sense two powerful lifeforms.
They were his former brothers. One was especially familiar: his mortal enemy, Roboute Guilliman.
"No one can toy with Psionics in Magnus's presence. I never imagined my father would change so much after the upheaval—even the power of Ascension can be purified," Lorgar remarked.
"Your Highness, you are also the Emperor's son. Could you ask the Emperor to purify you with his divine power?" In his desperation, Kor Phaeron grasped at straws.
Lorgar shook his head and quietly awaited the judgment of fate.

With both sides knowing each other inside and out, every strike aimed for a lethal weak point. By the time it was over, only one corrupted Queen Gloriana-class Battleship remained, surrounded by the rebellious Word Bearers.
The United Fleet made no move to hurry. It neither attacked nor offered assistance while the Word Bearers Legion tore itself apart.
Traitors were traitors. Giving them a chance to repent was already generous. The necessary sacrifices were no more than punishment for their past and a bargaining chip for their surrender—even if many
